Kelly Rowland along with her husband Tim Weatherspoon just appeared on this beautiful April cover of Essence to give us the first look at their baby boy Titan. In the accompanying interview, the singer opened up about marriage, losing her mom (who passed away last December) and how parenthood has changed her life for the better.
- On her son: "I actually wish I would have had him sooner." she said "It's just so much joy. I just feel so blessed ... I try to wake up a little bit earlier than him because I like watching his face in the morning, because he wakes up smiling. It just does something for my spirit."
- On her mother: Kelly explained that she's glad ther mother got to meet Titan before she passed away. "I have the most beautiful picture with Titan and my mom. When he came home ... he was just right on her chest and she was very happy. " She also talked about how her mother helped her prepared for motherhood. "She told me I'd be a great mom. One of the last things she told me was how proud she was of me."
- On her life right now:"My road to my happiness hasn't been an easy one. It hasn't been peachy all the time," Kelly said, alluding to her past experience with an abusive relationship. "But now I am so, so happy," she then said, adding that she's "proud of her family" and how she's "surrounded with so much love" from friends like from the Knowles family.
"She has been nothing but a blessing," Kelly gushed about Tina Knowles. "She's such a great example of a mother."
