  • Ryuhei Kitamura's new film, Downrange, starts streaming on Shudder tomorrow, April 26th.

  • Kitamura's previous films include Midnight Meat Train and Versus.

  • Kitamura co-wrote the film with Joey O'Brien after coming up with ideas of what scared them. O'Brien asked, "[W]hat if you were targeted by a sniper?" Kitamura said that scared him, and so they went with that idea: Downrange is about a sniper who targets a group of college students - strangers, carpooling together - on a deserted highway.

  • Cast includes Rod Hernandez, Stephanie Pearson, Jason Tobias, Alexa Yeames, Anthony Kirlew and Kelly Connaire.

  • The cast talks about playing unorthodox characters, not being "a bunch of stupid kids [who are] crying and screaming." Hernandez says of his role: “Being a minority actor, it was nice not to have to play the typical immigrant role.” Kierlew and Connaire were students at the time of filming and first-time actors.

  • Kitamura decided to open the film "with a bang," foregoing "boring, meaningless conversation…[filled with] bad direction, bad acting" that plagues most horror movies.

  • Spoiler? Kitamura talks about leaving the villain unexplained , and “The ending sells it. This is the ending that people will be talking about for years.”

Stephen King's The Long Walk headed to the big screen

New Line is going to be adapting Stephen King's novel 'The Long Walk'. The novel was originally written by King in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

The novel's summary:

In the near future, when America has become a police state, one hundred boys are selected to enter an annual contest where the winner will be awarded whatever he wants for the rest of his life. Among them is sixteen-year-old Ray Garraty, and he knows the rules—keep a steady walking pace of four miles per hour without stopping. Three warnings and you’re out—permanently.

- It'll premiere June 8.
- The poster was released in 20 different languages.
- Fun fact, it'll premiere exactly one year after Netflix announced it won't be bringing Sense8 back no matter how much fans ask for it. That decision was later overturned and the show was brought back for a final movie.

  • MRSHLL (real name: Marshall Bang) is a Korean-American musician from Anaheim, California.
  • He appeared on Show Me The Money, a hip-hop oriented music competition TV show that airs in South Korea.
  • His first EP comes out next month.
  • Bang is openly gay, He came out to his mother by telling her in Korean. He didn't speak it well, though, which ultimately confused his mother. His parents continue to process his sexuality while still pestering him about getting married and starting a family.
  • He is also a Christian: "If being gay is a sin, I don’t understand why being gay is so much more worse than lying and cheating and all these other things that people readily accept in Christianity."
  • Bang, growing up around religion and in a conservative Korean family, avoided his sexuality by focusing on music. Whether it was singing in his church choir or making cover videos for YouTube.
  • You can hear him in his recent collaboration "Dive" with djfriz and Megan Lee.

First Footage of 'Halloween' 2018 Debuts at CinemaCon

-The footage starts off introducing a film crew making a documentary about Michael Myers, who was apprehended immediately after the first movie ended (retconning all sequels that have followed) and escapes imprisonment 40 years later.

-Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode, who has prepared for his escape by training with guns and outfitting her home with secret passages. She says she's prayed every day for this to happen. When someone asks why, she replies, "So I can kill him."

-The trailer highlighted two very intense moments. The first features a girl sitting in a public bathroom stall. Someone enters and she says it's occupied. Michael then puts his hand over the door and drops a bunch of bloody teeth on her, after which she begins screaming.

-The final moment takes place in a young boy's bedroom. He asks his teenage babysitter to close his closet door. She tries and tries, but it doesn't budge. She opens the door to see what's blocking it and Michael pops out, knife in hand.

Meanwhile, the reveal of a dark secret forces Archie and Jughead to try and ease tensions between the Bulldogs and Serpents, but it probably fails miserably since the Bulldogs (+Kevin of all people) take up blunt objects to go fuck up the local biker bar that serves minors, has minors as bartenders, and lets minors strip for adults.

Finally, on the eve of the mayoral debate, a mysterious message leaves everyone on edge.
