Luis Fonsi talks about his career, the success of 'Despacito' and Puerto Rico

-Luis Fonsi was a guest on a Serbian Late Night talk show and he talked about his career before 'Despacito'.
-He only had one hit on his first album, then two hits on his second album, and he talked about how he had to work for his success, one step at a time.
-The host tells him no one actually knows the lyrics to 'Despacito' apart from the title (the host is being brutally honest the entire interview lol but in a joking manner), and Luis jokes he also makes up the lyrics on the spot sometimes on which the host defends himself with 'Justin Bieber does not know the lyrics either so it's okay'.
-He's been well-known in Latin America since he was 18 years old. He acted in soap operas and on Broadway, but he enjoys being a singer and doing concerts the most.
-The host asks him about the girl from the video 'Despacito' and Luis jokes he can give him her number, she was Miss Universe.
-He plugs his new song with Demi Lovato.
-He talks about the big ballad he did with Mariah Carey, and talks working with Christina Aguilera.
-He talks about the hurricane in Puerto Rico on which the host jokes 'Is the girl from the video okay?'
-He says Justin Bieber recorded the remix on his own, they weren't in the studio together.
-He says he gave Justin a full english version to record but Justin wanted to do it in Spanish and he took the time to learn a bit of Spanish and how it sounded so he can record it and keep the originality of the song and says Justin did a good job and should get credit for it.
-The host obviously does not like Justin Bieber. He said if he said anything bad about Justin, his fans would kill him.
-Luis talks about the parodies that came after 'Despacito'.
-Luis said about this interview: 'I wish press conferences were this interesting' and the host says 'Well, you never know with Donald Trump.'

-On more Gimore: They have a clause in their Amazon contract that allows them to do more Gilmore. They'd only do it if the entire cast got together again and if there was an organic story to tell.

This episode might actually be presented in an anthology format with each of its three storylines. Or that's my baseless hope

In one storyline, the girls investigate Sheriff Keller. Which involves him working out shirtless in his basement for reasons

In another storyline, Josie deals with some crazy fan, Chuck, and maybe some Pussycat tension

And in the last story, Jughead and Archie do gang shit because Jughead owes a lawyer

ONTD Original: top 15 hottest women superheroes

Guys and girls, lets get it on. This is only from movie & TV properties from the last ten years (2008-2018).

15. White Canary/Black Canary (Caity Lotz/Juliana Harkavy)

Why?
Look, I don't watch Arrow. But these two gals are hot. And their characters... do superhero stuff. I guess? I don't hear about them fucking up as much as lesser Batman. Good for you, girls!

14. Domino (Zazie Beets)

Why?
Yes, I'm including someone from a movie that hasn't been released yet. But she's going to be amazing and she deserves all the support in the world for having to be Josh Brolin's love interest. Plus look at her. Goddamn girl.

13. Mantis (Pom Klementieff)

Why?
Arguably more 'cute' than 'hot' but I'm still including her because she was one of my favorite characters in the movie, even if she was sadly paired with Drax for longer than necessary.

12. Lady Sif (Jaime Alexander)

Why?
Girl was the OG lady warrior. Literally. She looks damn good for however many 1000 years old she is. She fought with Thor in the first two movies and they avoided putting too much emphasis on her being jealous of basic Jane. There's ships sailing for Lady Sif/Valkyrie and honestly I am here. for. it.

11. Psylocke (Olivia Munn)

Why?
To be honest, Olivia Munn is hot pre and post Japanese potatoes. And she clearly worked hard to train for Psylocke. She was a hottie with a body but she ranks outside of the top ten due to the movie being trash and her character getting like 7 minutes of screentime.

10. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)

Why?
One of the first women to play an active role in the Marvel universe, which until Iron Man 2 had been.... well, Iron Man. She's hot, she's got skills, she's a founding Avenger. And still doesn't have her own movie. Iron Man 2 wasn't a great movie but this is definitely Scarjo's best wig.

9. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)

Why?
Why do bad movies happen to good people? I was so psyched for Suicide Squad. Harley is my favorite crazy bitch. I wanted to see Harley on the big screen but most of all, I wanted to see her on screen in a GOOD movie. Sadly it wasn't meant to be. But we'll always have Margot Robbie in entirely unnecessary (but hot) close ups. Let her crazy beauty cleanse you of Hot Topic Joker.

8. Mera (Amber Heard)

Why?
Why not? Amber Heard may not be the best actress and she may be a little too pretentious, but there's no denying that she looks like fire as Mera. Come through with a good movie for Queen Mera, James Wan!

7. Elektra (Elodie Yung)

Why?
Again, I haven't watched season 2 of Daredevil or The Defenders. But someone told me to include her so I googled and LOOK AT HER. Such beauty. If anything can convince me to ignore Matt's annoying fat friend and get back to Daredevil, it's her.

6. Gamora (Zoe Saldana)

Why?
I have a thing for green. Plus Zoe is hot when she's not saying questionable things. (This gif is terrible because aside from calling her a whore or Peter thinking she'll bone him, she's not that objectified in the movies!)

5. Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence/Rebecca Romijn)

Why?
Before Avatar (wow Zoe likes her body paint) made blue hot, there was Mystique. Both versions are sexy killer ladies who are out to fight for what they think is fair. They can be good, they can be bad, but we'll let Sharky himself best describe them. Jennifer Lawrence is the most recent version but Rebecca's Mystique was such a classic I couldn't not include her too.

4. The women of Black Panther (Lupita Nyong'o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba)

Why?
BECAUSE LORD WE NEEDED THIS! Black Panther isn't out until February 2018 but I'm already convinced these women will be the 100 emoji in human form. Marvel, you owe the world this black excellence. Wakanda knows that women are where it is at.

3. Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell)

Why?
Peggy Carter may not be a superhero but she is a super-person. She fought off men telling her what she could and couldn't do. She knew her worth and even though she fell for Cap, she didn't let him consume her life and moved on to form Shield with Tony's papa. Also she wears the hell out of that 40s fashion.

2. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson)

Why?
🔥🔥🔥 The Valkyrie, like Lady Sif, were the original badasses. An elite force that even Thor wanted to be part of. Thunderbae recognizes when he needs to show some damn respect. Tessa looks amazing in this role and Valkyrie was so friggin' adorable with Hulk. Guys. Honestly if you disagree with me then just go watch this movie again because Tessa Thompson.

1. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)

Why?
Gal Gadot is stunning. She's perhaps a little too stunning. I was distracted so many times watching Justice League because she's so pretty - although given the quality of the movie, I don't think that was a bad thing. And yes, the Wonder Woman movie wasn't perfect. But so what? It was damn close. After so many years of pushing Wondy aside for Batman, Supes, even FUCKING GREEN LANTERN, DC finally gave Patty a chance. And she delivered. So, even though Gal is peak hotness, Wonder Woman deserves the top spot for single-handedly saving the DCEU from ruin. Because even though there was a weak villain and too much Steve mansplaining things, the movie truly captured the essence of Wonder Woman. That you can save people with your strength and also be kind. You can make difficult choices but still believe in the good of people, even if that's not what they deserve. The creator of Wonder Woman was sus, but his original point was that people need strong women and that strength shows in many different ways. We can't all look like Gal but we can all be Wonder Woman!

This got away from me so here's Gal and Isla Fisher making out

Honorable mentions:

The Amazons
Nebula
Jessica Jones
Catwoman (you lost out on a top spot thanks to Marion's shitty death scene)
Hela (sorry, that crown was scary as fuck)

I look forward to many more sexy women in the superhero genre!

Katy Perry sat down with People to share her thoughts on judging "American Idol," her tour fashion evolution, body positivity and more.

When discussing her tour and fashion evolution she says, "I like trying new things, I like experimenting musically sonically and with my style and trends change. You know, I like to start trends not necessarily follow them... I would say there's one costume maybe like every year that kind of like rises to the top and becomes a 'Halloween costume.' And that's when you know that you're like doing something is when people dress as you for Halloween."

Ontd Original: Let's Revisit 7 Grammy Nominated & Winning Songs By Female Rappers

$
0
0
Rapper and roach enthusiast Cardi B. has secured two Grammy nominations in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for her smash hit single "Bodak Yellow". The Grammy academy of voters have a long history of outright ignoring the musical achievements made by women in Rap & Hip Hop for over three decades. Ahead of the 2018 awards, let's revisit the nominated & winning jams from amazing, unapologetic female rappers.

Winning Songs

Missy Elliot - Get Ur Freak On (2001)

This song rightfully won because the incomparable Missy Elliot, along with her former producing partner & now sometimes buff creep Timbaland were great musical innovators that pioneered danceable hip hop while turning other artist's music around them to gold.
Grammy Nominations to date: 22 Won: 4

Eve - Let Me Blow Ya Mind ft. Gwen Stefani

This was Eve's, the former "pitbull in a skirt", only Grammy win achieved with the help of Gwen Stefani. Who during that era was stacking hits with whatever black musician would let her ska jump into their lives (Eve, Lady Saw, Bounty Killer, Slim Thug, Pharrell, Akon, Damian Marley). Songs Eve SHOULD have been nominated for: Gotta Man, What Y'all Want, Love is Blind.
Grammy Nominations to date: 4 Won: 1

Queen Latifah - U.N.I.T.Y (1995)

An important song from hip hop's (still honestly)reigning queen, literally. Latifah called out misogyny, sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, black girls struggling in gang life and a call for sisterhood/solidarity all in one song. No wonder she took home the Best Rap Solo Performance that year.
Grammy Nominations to date: 7 Won: 1

Salt-N-Pepa - None Of Your Business (1994)

"NOYB" was a liberating pro-sexual choice/expression song sorely needed in the heavily misognyistic world of rap & hip hop. It was later disowned by Salt (born name: Chery James) who was struggling with an eating disorder during the song's recording.
Grammy Nominations to date: 5 Won: 1

Nominated Songs

Ms. Lauryn Hill - Lost Ones (1997)

One of the few rap tracks on her Grammy winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This gem has L-boogie adopting a slight Jamaican patois slant to her scathing rhymes (reportedly about ex-Fugees groupmate and boyfriend Wyclef Jean). Unfortunately the rap category was one of the few she didn't win that night. Her other wins were in the AOTY, R&B, Pop Vocal and Producer categories.
Grammy Nominations to date: 19 Won: 8

Lil Kim - Not Tonight (1996)

"Not Tonight" is a lower charting single from her debut album. It was quite forgettable actually. I didn't include Grammy winning"Lady Marmalade" because it was a pop category win, not rap/hip hop. So instead here is the remix version "Not Tonight (Ladies Night)", the golden moment when trailblazing women in hip hop gathered together for this hot ass party single those of us old enough to remember jammed to.
Grammy Nominations to date: 6 Won: 1

Foxy Brown - Na Na Be Like (1996)

It's not surprising Foxy has barely been nominated even though she came out of the gate strong as a teenage rap sensation and protege of Grammy winning rapper Jay-Z. This was another song that showcases Foxy's skills but is ultimately forgettable too. So here is "Get Me Home" featuring Blackstreet, her stellar debut single from the same album which should have been nominated instead.
Grammy Nominations to date: 1 Won: 0

Grammy President Comments on Nominations' Diversity

Grammy President/CEO Neil Portnow says he gets just as nervous when receiving the Grammy Awards nominations list from the Academy's accountants as the potential nominees do. However, he does not think this year will get much backlash
- Portnow says,"I was very pleased. The nominations were a wonderful reflection on our organization and how relevant and in touch and savvy our voting members are."
- The article points out that Jay-Z leads all nominees with eight nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with seven, Bruno Mars with six and Childish Gambino, No I.D., Khalid and SZA tied with five.
- Says they added a rap nominations review committee this year to evaluate the final selections in the rap categories
- On Ed Sheeran not being nominated: "As good and as popular as somebody's song or track or album may have been in any given year, for those people who are their peers, they might look at it a little differently." (lmaooo)
