Prince Harry and
Meghan Markle announced their engagement this past Monday. The couple is expected to tie the knot next year in May and one can't help but wonder who will be attending and who will be
performing at the wedding. It's no secret that Prince Harry is a big fan of The Killers
and is friends with the band for ten years now. Harry has even had late night jam sessions with the band. Whether Prince Harry can actually play an instruement or he's simply given a tambourine to jam along with is unclear.
Earlier this year, drummer
Ronnie Vannucci Jr. had this to say about Harry: “He just showed up at a show one time and we got along. I mean, it’s been ten years I guess. There’s been a lot of long nights. There have been cousins and things like that from the [royal] family and they’re all just regular dudes and nice people. It’s safe to say we didn’t grow up with the sort of bedazzlement of having a Royal Family or anything, so I wasn’t educated in what it means to know these people first. Maybe that’s what made things cool. It was just like, ‘Hey, man’.” One can't help but wonder if Prince Harry could
quite possibly invite the band to perform at the Royal Wedding next year.
Ellie Gouldingperformed a rendition of Elton John's "
Your Song" for his brother
Prince William and
Kate Middleton's first dance.
Perhaps
Brandon Flowers could cover an Elton John song for Prince Harry and Meghan, Flowers is after all a major fan of the "
Candle in the Wind" singer as well as
friends with him. How could The Killers
not be the obvious choice for this? "
Mr. Brightside" + UK? The palace walls would be
LIT. Queen Elizabeth II would be coming out of her cage and feeling just fine and getting her life to "
When You Were Young." Look, it's not just me who thinks it's a possibility.
The band only has six sold-out concerts scheduled in May. Choose wisely Harry and Meghan.
If you liked it, then you should put a performance ring on it.
