Many people on ONTD have asked about where their relationship went wrong and I am delivering. Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have an extremely dynamic friendship over the years. They met on the set of Barney & Friends, and both ended up on Disney Channel where they both made their big break. From Princess Protection Program to "ASK TAYLOR" here is a timeline of their friendship.
BARNEY&FRIENDS![]()
Demi and Selena met on the set on Barney & Friends at age 7. Demi asked Selena if she could color with Selena Gomez. Then started the beautiful friendship. In 2004, they both ended their time on Barney.
WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACEIn 2007, Selena was cast for Wizards of Waverly place.
CAMP ROCK (THIS IS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE)
In 2008, Demi Lovato was cast in Camp Rock which skyrocketed her to fame.
With both girls become Disney stars, they ended up doing cute vlogs together.

In October of 2008, Miley Cyrus and Mandy (her backup dancer who she made vlogs with), made a video mocking Demi & Selena's vlog. This was like a ~huge deal~.

PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAMThe greatest movie to ever exist was released in early 2009 starring both of the girls. It was the first time they had filmed something together since Barney&Friends. They then sang the theme song for the movie called "One and the Same".
In July of 2009 they had a joint best friend [banned source] spread!

Things suddenly seemed to take a dark turn in their friendship when in 2010 while Demi was in London. She was taking pictures for fans and signing things, when a fan asked an innocent question: "How's Selena?" It prompted one of the most iconic responses from Demi.

REHABIn 2010, Demi checked herself into rehab after punching her back up dancer. She checked in for her eating disorder, self harm, and drug abuse. There were only a few people who called her in rehab. A couple of those people being Nick, Miley, and Selena. Demi said on Nick & Selena calling her: "Nick especially — he’s always been there for me. And Selena because she called me crying when I was in there and was just so worried. I was like, ‘Look, I should be the one crying, it’s all good!’ But she was so worried and ever since then we’ve gotten closer.”

Selena was a correspondent for MTV during the pre-show. She interviewed Demi about her new album and talked about her love of Missy Elliott (she collaborated on a song with her for the worst album demi has ever put out Unbroken).

Demi & Selena ignored each other completely the whole night and fans took notice. Selena left with your favorite fuckboy Justin Beiber.

here, but Demi talked about Selena to MTV. She said: "We’ve been through a lot together, we’ve had periods of times we here we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk. Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them. She’s going to be a big sister, and I want to be around for that. Everything about her, she has a great soul, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart.”
Selena instagramed "evidence of forever" after she performed on the X Factor US where Demi was a judge.

In the beginning of 2014 things were looking okay for Delena. Selena had a brief stint in Rehab during January after canceling her tour in December and went out to eat with Demi the same month too (totally a coincidence).

Demi posted this on twitter, but quickly deleted it and then unfollowed Selena on twitter and instagram. Demi told Andy Cohn: “I think it’s just one of those things where people change and people grow apart."
