Matthew Vaughn talks about *SPOILER* for Kingsman 2

Spoilers Ahoy
Kingsman_Recruits

Vaughn talks about *major spoilers for the first film* and how it could possibly work in the sequel
Empire talked to Vaughn, who said there are ideas being batted around to bring Colin Firth back for the sequel, despite the fact that his character Harry is shot and killed in the first film. (Even though his death is seen in a long shot that leaves just enough room for doubt about the true outcome.) Of the decision to go through with that choice, Vaughn says,

It was a big decision, but you have to make a decision that’s right for the movie. I’m sure George Lucas had people saying, “Are you sure we want to kill off Alec Guinness in Star Wars?'”

To USA Today, Vaughn said,
A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel, but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back.
That said, while we probably won’t see Harry as a Kingsman version of a force ghost, he might be seen in flashbacks, or in imagined sequences as an advisor or mentor. Because the sequel would definitely be Taron Egerton’s film.
The sequel will be ‘This is the modern-day gentleman spy.’ Because Harry isn’t. Harry even says, ‘There is a reason why we’ve developed weak chins.’ He said that meaning, ‘Look at us, we need to get new blood into this system,’ and that’s what Eggsy is. I joke that we’ve made the prequel to the Eggsy movie.

- It will be more pop than what fans are used to.
- "1000 Forms of Fear" was released to finish her publishing deal but because of the albums success, she decided to make another album.

Talk of The Beatles begins at 3:24.

A newly unearthed interview with Lou Reed reveals The Velvet Underground leader’s thoughts on The Beatles, and they were not kind.

“I never liked the Beatles,” Reed said. “I thought they were garbage. If you say, ‘Who did you like?’ I liked nobody.”

The comments date back to a 1987 interview Reed did with journalist Joe Smith. PBS uncovered the interview and animated it for the latest installment of its Blank on Blank series.

model hari nef talks her big NYFW and trans politics: "transness is not a destination"

ph: ethan james green for style.com

"Fashion absolutely adores actress Hari Nef, and with good reason. Aside from her angular, androgynous face, Nef is also spearheading the swelling transgender movement so that one day it won’t be called a “movement,” as if it’s some fleeting trend. An unstoppable force in New York this week, Nef proudly opened NYFW on the VFiles catwalk wearing a “Girl Power” hoodie; she kept it cute on the set of Degen’s whimsical presentation, joined Adam Selman’s crew of ’60s bad girls and supported rising designer Vejas at his Johannes Vogt Gallery showcase. We caught up with the illusive “It Girl,” whatever that really means, and talked about all things Fashion Week."
- the source

- On fashion's supposed fixation on the trans movement:"Fashion is having a moment with gender fluidity, but not necessarily transness. Designers are presenting masculinity as an option for women and vice versa. That’s not ontology, that’s aesthetics, but transness goes deeper than that. Transness is not a destination."

- On the potential benefit of trans inclusion in fashion:"I think trans visibility is generally a positive thing and fashion could prove to be a fabulous platform for us. I’m uncertain as to whether ‘what’s now’ will become integrated into the norms, or merely be written off as ‘last season.’ Ultimately, I want to see trans folks taking their place in the fashion world in a way that doesn’t feel like such a big deal."

- On her favorite designers of the moment:"I’m so proud of my friend Vejas, who showed in New York for the first time this season. His casting was directional, the imagery urgent and the clothes seriously lux. Timo Weiland and Creatures of the Wind offered drama that didn’t feel loud. Altuzarra was sexy as fuck. Also, I’m Goth girl at heart, so Alexander Wang struck a chord inside me that hasn’t been plucked since My Chemical Romance dropped Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004."

Catch Leighton Meester on tour and listen to her new dreamy cover with Dana Williams

Mods, I combined/already paraphrased two separate interviews. That's why it's longish.

Leighton Meester will spend the rest of February on tour -- click here to see if you're lucky! If you're not as lucky, you can still appreciate her SLAY-tonness through these interviews and a recent cover of the Caravelles'"Dream of You" she released with lifelong friend Dana Williams.

Looking back at starring on Broadway's OF MICE AND MEN and if she'll revisit theatre: At this point it’s been almost a year since I started it, but it really seems like yesterday. It’s hard to describe; I’ve never experienced anything quite like that, but I loved it and I’d love to do it again at some point in the future. I don’t know if I can match that particular experience or level of inspiration that I got, but I’d like to try.

The process of her releasing her album, which was in the works for five years: I started the process of writing the record about four and a half years ago, and then I was going back and forth between LA and New York working with bands and musicians to put music out there in a live setting, but I’d never recorded anything because I wasn’t going to have time to do a proper tour or promote it.[...] And then I met my producer in 2012 (Jeff Trott), and he and I just sat and talked about my vision and the music I like, the meaning of my record and what I wanted to say. If I got a movie I’d have to leave, or if I had to travel for something I’d have to leave, but I’d always come back to his little studio. Then in 2013 we actually were done with demo-ing everything, and so the whole process took almost as long as it’s taking me to describe how long it took.

If she's used to people making stories out of her personal life (most recently, pictures of her home went online): Yeah, I avoid it as much as possible. The nice thing is I do have a personal life and it’s personal—that’s how I like to keep it. Whenever I’m talking in an interview, I’ll talk about my dogs, my home and things that shape me—the music I like, the books I like, things I’m interested in, my friends, my family. But yeah, I think there are certain things that are off limits—and I can’t apologize for that at all. That’s how I like it.

Her three most-played songs on Spotify: I’ve got [country legend] Ernest Tubb; I’ve got anything off of the "Wakin on a Pretty Daze” album by Kurt Vile. I love Big Star—I love that double album, “#1 Record/Radio City."

She released this for Valentine's Day

interview on a date with john cho

on Seflie being canceled:
"I just thought it was such a good show. In the grand scheme of things, I guess that's how the world works, but I'm sad about it. The upside is that I got to work with an exceptional group of people. I even had dinner with Karen Gillan a couple of nights ago, in fact."

on Mindy Kaling asking him to be on her show:
"She wrote a nice letter, and I said 'Absolutely.' I'm real easy! I play a drug dealer. I thought that seemed appropriate given my past acting credits. [Laughs] It seems funny to me."

on learning English:
"I grew up speaking Korean, but my dad spoke English very well. I learned a lot of how to speak English by watching television. Sesame Street early on and then Little House on the Prairie was a big deal in our house. I always identified with Little House because they were wanderers and there was something about being an immigrant. You know, Pa always wanted to move west. I also loved Three's Company."

on interracial relationships on screen:
"On the one hand you're like, "Hey, can we stop talking about this? Can you just watch?" But on the other hand, it's a cool feeling that for Koreans or for Asians they're like, "Hey that guy..." When I was a kid there was nobody Asian on television, so when I saw George Takei in Star Trek that was very exciting. I know that people...there is a connection when people see somebody that looks like them. So I'm of two mind about it. I'm conflicted, you know. I see both sides."
