January Jones Deletes Instagram Pic Featuring Tribal Adolescents As Photo Is Branded As Racist
January Jones has deleted a photo on Instagram after receiving an online backlash. The 36-year-old actress had posted a Throwback Thursday image of her first modelling gig, featuring her in a tribal-inspired jumper, flanked by two shirtless adolescents of African descent.
However, the Mad Men star has now replaced it with a picture of her standing by herself in a knit sweater, explaining: 'I had to swap my #tbt pics because I was receiving to (sic) many negative comments and assumptions.'
She added: 'This forum should be a happy and fun place i have no patience for hate' preceded by a hashtag.

Jones deleted the first image around two hours after posting it following a rash of comments branding it 'racist'.
It also appeared some of the comments were removed by Jones before she took the step of posting a replacement photograph.
One commentator, called khiyarakrige, wrote: 'Why are my comments about your racist ad being racist being deleted?'
Another Instagram user, named einarragnarjonsson, commented on the picture: 'The representation of naked black women, amidst a white fully-clothed female "model" is problematic.

‘It’s not racist in that it’s discriminatory, but it follows a long history of animalizing black people in relation to (chaste, pure) white womanhood.
'Also the wording of the catalogue is not doing it any favors ("unexpected arrangement of colors" is hopefully not an intentional racial remark.)'

She’s the longest-serving Victoria’s Secret Angel, has the world’s largest social media footprint of any fashion model, and basically brings us out in fit of ‘I wish I looked like t-h-a-a-t!’ every time we see her. So it’s no wonder that Maybelline have signed Adriana Lima to return as spokesperson.

Alan Cumming Says He’s “Sorry” For Tweeting About Terry Richardson
This might be the worst week to work with Terry Richardson. But no one told Alan Cumming that.
On Sunday night, New York published a cover story on the fashion photographer, who for years has been accused of coercing models into performing sexual acts on him, or allowing him to perform sexual acts on them.
The profile enraged many longtime Richardson critics, who argued the piece downplayed the voices of his alleged victims. Models interviewed in the piece reached out to BuzzFeed and The Guardian, reminding the world of their alleged encounters with Richardson. Another woman made new accusations on Jezebel. On Thursday, TMZ published a clip from a never-released Richardson-directed video for Lady Gaga’s “Do What U Want,” which one Page Six source described as “literally an ad for rape.”
So when Alan Cumming — the beloved Scottish-American star of Broadway’s Cabaret and CBS’ The Good Wife — tweeted an image of himself with Richardson later on Thursday, many expressed disappointment in him and Harper’s Bazaar — which has become a safe haven in the fashion world for Richardson.
(Note the supportive last tweet — certainly not the only one.)
UPDATE: Cumming has since deleted both his initial tweet and apology tweet — a response that will seem familiar to anyone following the recent ebb and flow of “Uncle Terry” backlash. In April, Neil Patrick Harris tweeted about a photo shoot he had just finished with Richardson for Rolling Stone, calling it “so fun” and a “bucket list moment.” He deleted the tweet soon after.

Leonardo Dicaprio replaces Captain Planet one element at a time
Foggy Bottom got a little taste of Hollywood Tuesday, when Leonardo DiCaprio appeared at a State Department event to pledge $7 million to ocean conservation.
The Wolf of Wall Street star unveiled the pledge at the State Department’s “Our Ocean” conference, saying the sum would go toward “meaningful” ocean conservation projects over the next two years, funding organizations and communities that are establishing marine reserves.
DiCaprio spoke on the same day it emerged President Obama would significantly expand marine sanctuary protections in the Pacific Ocean. While the actor applauded the Obama administration’s work on marine conservation, he said more needed to be done by the world’s governments to protect the fragile ocean environment.
“It’s the Wild West on the high seas,” DiCaprio said. “These last remaining underwater bio gems are being destroyed because there isn’t proper enforcement or sufficient cooperation among governments to protect them.”
DiCaprio, a diving enthusiast, described the environmental devastation that he had witnessed firsthand over the past 20 years in his dives in the Australian Great Barrier Reef. The “endless underwater utopia,” he said, is now filled with bleached coral reefs and massive dead zones. During a diving trip to Costa Rica’s Cocos Island, he witnessed illegal fishing vessels invade the waters of one of the world’s few shark sanctuaries.
“We’re plundering the ocean and its vital resources, and just because we can’t see the devastation from dry land doesn’t mean it’s any less dangerous,” he said. “It needs to stop.”
DiCaprio has been a longtime ocean conservation advocate. Earlier this year, he gave a $3 million grant to Oceana, an international ocean conservation organization, through his Leonardo DiCaprio foundation.

Rap and hip-hop fans across North America will rejoice tomorrow when tickets for the Drake vs Lil Wayne Tour go on sale to the general public. The two larger-than-life rappers will take the stage across 31 cities in just over seven weeks from August-September for the Drake vs Lil Wayne tour. Set to release two new albums later this year, Lil Wayne will embark on the most expensive hip-hop tour of the summer with Young Money partner Drake, who has put together an extensive list of Billboard hits since exploding on the scene with his song “Best I Ever Had” in 2009. While hip-hop heavyweights Eminem and Rihanna are set to kick off their Monster Tour in August and power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé begin their On the Run Tour later this month, Drake vs Lil Wayne tickets face little competition in secondary ticket price as they hold the highest average price among all major hip-hop tours this summer, according to TiqIQ.
From the amount of tickets that have hit the secondary market from brokers and pre-sales, the average price for Drake vs Lil Wayne tickets is $249.20, 6.4% higher than Jay-Z and Beyoncé tickets for On the Run, which have an average secondary price of $234.16. Eminem and Rihanna tickets for the Monster tour will be the cheapest hip-hop tour tickets this summer has an average price on the secondary market is currently $217.81, 12.6% cheaper than the Drake vs Lil Wayne Tour and 6.98% cheaper than the On the Run Tour.
The tour’s most expensive date is currently the September 27 stop at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Texas, which has an average price of $314.51, 26.2% above the tour average, with a get-in price of $55. The least expensive concert will be at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Michigan on August 17 as the average price is currently $157.26, 36.9% below the tour average and 50% below the tour’s most expensive date in Texas. The get-in price does not differ much from the most expensive show at $53.
On top of holding the highest average secondary price for their upcoming tour, Drake and Lil Wayne are also the youngest artists among all three collaborative mega tours in the hip-hop genre this summer. At a cumulative age of just 58, Drake (27) and Lil Wayne (31) are younger than Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s collective age of 76 and Eminem and Rihanna’s combined age of 67. The rap duo has also collaborated for more songs than either of their competitors, garnering over 30 songs and 17 Billboard hits together in comparison to Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s nine collective songs and Eminem and Rihanna’s four songs in “Love the Way You Lie (Pts. 1 and 2)”, “Numb” and “The Monster”.

The raunchy video starring Gaga and Kelly was directed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson and depicts racy scenes between the singers. Its release would have coincided with heated attention focused on scandals involving both Richardson and Kelly.
According to our source, Kelly plays a doctor in the video, with Gaga acting as his patient in scenes that riff on her real-life hip injury last year.
Gaga asks Kelly, “Will I ever be able to walk again?” The singer replies, “Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body.” The not-so-good doctor then adds, “I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant.” Alrighty, then!
We’re told the video was shot in September for a December release. After weeks of delays, it was mysteriously scrapped, and in January, Gaga posted an angry message on her website, blaming bad management and a tight schedule.
But we’re told there were other factors. Around the same time, Richardson was accused of sexual misconduct on his sets by several models, and an online petition asking big brands to stop hiring him was launched on change.org. (Richardson denies the allegations against him in a New York magazine cover story this week.)
Kelly, meantime, in December faced backlash over an in-depth Village Voice interview with veteran Chicago writer Jim DeRogatis, in which he chronicled “stomach-churning” sexual assault suits against Kelly in the 1990s, saying there were “dozens of girls — not one, not two, dozens — with harrowing lawsuits.”
A source told us, “Gaga had a video directed by an alleged sexual predator, starring another sexual predator. With the theme, ‘I’m going to do whatever I want with your body’? It was literally an ad for rape.” Reps for Gaga and Richardson didn’t comment. Kelly’s rep didn’t get back to us.

A first look at "The Judge"
Howdy folks. I'm still a newbie at this stuff, so kindly bear with... Just wrapped the Avengers: Age of Ultron gig, figured it was the right time to give you an advance look at a trailer for The Judge, coming out in October.
Susan and I are delighted that this wound up being the first movie produced through our Team Downey production company at Warner Bros. It’s a drama with lots of heart and wit.... might be the best thing I've been part of yet...beginner’s luck, perhaps.
An original story from our director, David Dobkin, it’s a modern tale of conflict, judgment, death, regret, irony, family dysfunction, hilarity, and of course, unconditional love. When a miserable hotshot Chicago lawyer returns home to a small town in Indiana for his mother’s funeral, he is forced to deal with a lifetime at odds with his legendarily stoic superior court justice father (aka The Judge).
What could possibly go wrong? Shame and secrets, old flames and...murder perhaps?

The official website for the Sword Art Online television anime began streaming the fourth in a series of short promotional videos for the Sword Art Online II series on Friday. The video depicts the world within the online game Gun Gale Online and features narration by the sniper Sinon:

The new series will adapt the third arc, Phantom Bullet, from Reki Kawahara's original light novel series. The arc from the fifth and sixth novel volumes features the heroine Sinon and the protagonist Kirito.
The United States premiere screening event will be held at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 4. Original light novel author Reki Kawahara and illustrator and character designer abec will be in attendance. Crunchyroll will stream the series starting on July 5.

Fujiko Pro and Viz Media have opened an English website for the Doraemon television anime series. The website also features an intro video with the English dub cast.
The website features character descriptions, a free preview of the manga, and a link to the "Doraemon Repair Shop" app for iOS and Android devices. The character description for Doraemon notes that the name of his favorite snack food dorayaki has been changed to "Yummy Buns" for the dub.
Doraemon will premiere with an English dub on Disney XD, a children's channel available in 78 million households, this summer. Disney XD will run a total of 26 episodes five times a week.
The manga creator duo Fujiko Fujio (Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko) created Doraemon in 1969. In the story, the robotic cat was sent by a boy in the future to the present day to help the boy's hapless grandfather, Nobita. Doraemon, Nobita, and other children deal with everyday childhood issues, solve (and cause) problems with the gadgets in Doraemon's fourth-dimensional pocket, and embark on escapades through time and space.
The story and the names of characters and gadgets have been partially changed out of consideration for American culture and customs. Doraemon's owner Nobita is now "Noby," the bully Gian is now "Big G," the flying contraption Takecopter is now the "Hopter," and the magical portal "Dokodemo Door" is now the "Anywhere Door." The recent English edition of the manga also has similar names. The adaptation will move the setting from Japan to a fictional place in America. Other changes have been detailed here.

Lock Up Your Bronies, Hasbro May Be Claiming Creative Control Over My Little Pony‘s Adult Fans
Frankly, I’m surprised it took this long: after four years of growing ubiquity, the good “Brony” name and all its accompanying fan-made creations may now be owned by Hasbro. Everyone put your hooves where I can see them and back away from Deviantart. Slowly.
Even before its recent legal woes, the brony moniker was already loaded with implications: everyone from Glenn Beck to adult-film star Tasha Reign has had strong opinions on My Little Pony‘s older fans. I’m not a brony, so I defer to any readers with insider insight: if you want to unpack the gender implications of the term, I’d be fascinated. Unfortunately, Hasbro probably would be, too.
According to blogger mandomommy (the mother of Andy “Mandopony” Stein, a musician known for his pony-themed songs) her recent interactions with Hasbro reveal the company may be putting legal constraints on one of its largest fan bases. Mandomommy says she attempted to upload a product from Zazzle with a “Brony” descriptive tag back in May, and received the following notice:
(Update: Mandomommy herself sent us an e-mail giving more context for her interactions with Zazzle.) If Hasbro did in fact request the removal it would be an unprecedented and strange move considering the word “brony” was already copyrighted, technically. The name first appeared on 4chan on 10/23/10, just 13 days after the current My Little Pony reboot, Friendship is Magic, first aired.
According to Horse News, the word “brony” didn’t even appear in official Hasbro content until the show’s “Equestria Girls” song two years ago. Here the term refers just to males, rather than adult fans in general.
If Hasbro is claiming the term as intellectual property, what does that mean for the niche group that’s produced literal buttloads of original content under the brony name? The adult My Little Pony devotees are one of the most creative and influential fan bases out there, and helped make Friendship Is Magic the highest-rated original production in the Hub Network’s broadcast history. The brony influence has also not gone unnoticed by the show’s actors, who spoke about the phenomenon back in 2012. Said Tabitha St. Germain (or Rarity, for all you FIM fans):
These guys make videos and music and stories and astonishing art, and make whole worlds with it. I just think they’re awesome.
Tara Strong, the voice of Twilight Sparkle, also had high praise:
They’re the best fanbase ever, they’re so hilarious and supportive and creative and giving, they give so much to charity and they’re always there for us if we’re putting silly stuff on Twitter or if we’re raising money for charity.
Do not bro gently into that good night, fans. The Internet needs your defiant creativity, and yes, even the ensuing picture of Jesus cradling Rainbow Dash. Surely one of the Mane 6 has some kind of legal background?

Look Inside Rachel Zoe's Chic Home
Rachel Zoe with husband (and CEO of Zoe Media Group) Rodger Berman and son Skyler in front of his canvas teepee in the living room, aka the White Room. "Dark wooden floors and plush rugs are the key to making it feel warm and inviting," she says.
"Now that I'm a parent, my home is more casual," she said. "I just want my child to run and play everywhere."

"This is a real family kitchen," says Zoe. "But the only person I cook for is Sky. I make him dinner every night using a Baby Brezza baby-food-maker from Williams-Sonoma. It steams and blends for you—it's genius."

In the dining room hangs one of Zoe's favorite pieces: a commissioned portrait of her with Skyler by artist Aaron Sandnes that's made entirely with thumbprints.

"I used to think, Don't go in there with food! Then I learned that whatever is most precious in your house instantly becomes the kid's favorite thing," she says, laughing. "He spit up on my pristine B&B couch at age 6 months. Now he uses it as a driveway for his cars."

In the office a bold Hermès blanket adds a hit of color to a neutral space. "I consider myself a minimalist, but I do love to include a few bright accessories," says Zoe.
MASTER BEDROOM
In the master bedroom a gallery of vintage Hermès ads, a gift from Zoe's parents, faces the bed with its modern frame and Missoni pillows. The armchairs are vintage Knoll. It's also one of Zoe's favorite rooms—a carpeted sanctuary with a spacious Philippe Starck "couch bed" where her family often falls asleep watching movies.
SKYLER'S NURSERY
"My mission in the nursery was to make it beautiful, not kitschy," she says. The Jeff Koons print Monkey Train was purchased at an auction. The crib is by Spot on Square.
RACHEL ZOE'S CLOSET
"I'm most proud of my jacket collection," says Zoe, standing in her closet, where Chanel versions abound. "Living in L.A. is hard for me—it's too hot to wear them!"
SKYLER'S CLOSET
The highlights: A three-piece gray wool suit and a cognac leather motorcycle jacket with brass zippers, both by Gucci; an array of shawl-neck Ralph Lauren cotton cable-knit sweaters in everyday colors like black, navy, and dark gray; a cozy Burberry plaid cashmere sweater and matching pants.
SKYLER'S SHOE COLLECTION
Just like Mommy, Skyler has an extensive shoe collection from tiny Ugg boots in chocolate, tan, black, and rust to rows of little lace-ups (yes, more Gucci!).
THE OUTSIDE PATIO
The couple enjoys inviting friends over for casual dinner parties served buffet style, often under their white trellised patio. "I keep the kitchen doors open for an indoor/outdoor feel," she says. Zoe purchased the custom table on 1stdibs.com. ("I bought almost everything in this house online.")

Drunk History is Coming July 1st!
With the second season of Comedy Central’s Drunk History just a month away from hitting the air, let’s pour you a tall, frosty glass of casting news: David Cross, Laura Dern,
Arrested Development fans will be pleased as spiked punch to learn that three cast members — Cross, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat— will appear this season. A trio of alums from Friday Night Lights (Adrianne Palicki, Zach Gilford, Jesse Plemons) are also getting the call to re-enaction, as are three stars from The League (Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Jason Mantzoukas) and two from Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio). And if it has always been your very specific dream to see Courteney Cox as first lady Edith Wilson, Johnny Knoxville as Johnny Cash, and Laura Dern as trailblazing investigative journalist Nellie Bly, well, then this season is your lucky one.
“Casting season 2, I had one thing in mind — to keep clear eyes and a full heart so I wouldn’t lose,” Drunk History host/co-creator Derek Waters tells EW. “I was lucky enough to get several cast members from Friday Night Lights as well as the Hollywood Hall of Fame of my favorite dream actors to work with, no matter what their IMDb star meter is.”
As you can see in these images from various episodes, Stephen Merchant and Cross are teaming up to play George Washington and Friedrich Wilhem von Steuben, who was Inspector General and Major General in the Continental Army under Washington’s command. In another story, John Lithgow will offer up his version on Washington, while Chris Parnell does his best impression of Benedict Arnold and Winona Ryder assumes the role of his second wife, Peggy Shippen. And, yes, that’s Jordan Peele formulating his take on pioneering chemist Percy Julian.
