Moving on! Katy Perry focuses on fitness and shows off pert derrière in Lycra gym gear after 'splitting with John Mayer'

Some take to the sofa after a split, others hide under the duvet.

Not so for Katy Perry though, who appeared ready to hit the gym when she was spotted in Los Angeles on Thursday - despite he fact she is rumoured to have split with longtime love John Mayer.

Sporting full-length Lycra leggings with colourful running shoes and a grey hooded top, the 29-year-old showed off her toned legs and pert derrière.

Shading her eyes behind black Ray Ban sunglasses, the Teenage Dream singer wore her black hair pulled off her face in a messy bun.

Despite her casual attire, which included an unusual winged top, Katy wore a full face of make-up for her workout.
She seemed to be listening to music as she made her way from her car into the building and toted a black leather handbag.

Katy and singer John Mayer had been seeing each other sporadically since 2012, after Perry split from British comedian Russell brand.

Bill O’Reilly joined the Late Show with David Letterman and continued to share his disapproval of Beyoncé.

While talking to Letterman, O’Reilly called Beyoncé‘s recent music videos “raunchy.” Letterman replied by saying this has been in the music industry for the last 40 to 50 years.

The host asked O’Reilly, “What about Miley Cyrus naked on that thing?” referring to Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” video.

“I missed that. I don’t know how,” O’Reilly responded.

The Fox News personality went on to say that Beyoncé is worth $350 million, and that “she doesn’t have to do this. I mean some of these thugs that’s all they can do, but she doesn’t have to.”

“We don’t go calling people thugs,” said Letterman in response, receiving audience applause.

On The O’Reilly Factor last week, the host ranted about the singer’s sexually provocative appearances, claiming they set bad examples for young girls.

O’Reilly called the superstar’s video for “Partition” “exploitative garbage” and thinks that young fans with irresponsible parents will be watching, noting the rate of unwanted teen pregnancies.

Lady Gaga Reveals She Was Broke

While Lady Gaga was reaching for fame during 2009's Monsters Ball Tour, the ugly truth is that she was broke.

"I had $3 million dollars in the bank to my name and I threw it all in to make my stage," the 27-year-old singer said in a clip of the documentary "Who the F--k is Arthur Fogel?" via Entertainment Tonight. "So I was bankrupt during the show."
As the pop star toured to promote her debut album "The Fame," she literally put all she had into the show and chasing her dreams.

"I remember I went home and I was with my dad and he said, 'I don't understand. 'Bad Romance' is out. You are all over the radio. Everyone is talking about you and you don't have a pot to piss in,'" she recalled.
But Gaga had big plans and knew her struggles were only momentary even if no one else saw her vision.
"I said, 'Just let me do this,'" she added. "'Let me just put it on the stage because I think if I can do this I can get Arthur Fogel's attention.' And I did."

Fogel is the chairman of Live Nation's global touring division and with her elaborate costumes and stage esthetics Gaga's master planned worked. He approached the "Poker Face" singer with a deal of a lifetime, which surpassed her $3 million sacrifice by a long shot.

"I remember he called me and he said, 'We want to do this,'" she detailed in the documentary that premieres on EPIX March 19. "And he got Live Nation to write me a $40 million check. It changed my life and the life of my whole family."

Far from broke these days, Gaga, who was born Stefani Germanotta, recently come under fire for questionable financial spending through her Born This Way Foundation.

The accusations included $1.85 million spent on expenses while only $5,000 was reportedly donated as a grant.
"First and foremost, we are an organization that conducts our charitable activity directly, and we fund our own work," her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, who is the foundation's president, said in a statement Thursday. "We are not a grant-maker that funds the work of other charities, and were never intended to be."

She added, "Every dollar spent (on the foundation), including the legal fees towards the safe and effective implementation of each initiative, directly serves Born This Way Foundation's core mission of empowering youth."

Are You The One Selfie

In a historic photo that nearly broke the Internet, 2014 Oscar host Ellen Degeneres managed to capture some of the world’s most sought-after movie stars in a single frame. One thing it was missing, though? Her perfect match. Earlier this week, the “Are You the One?” cast all got together to film a reunion special, and when they had a spare second off stage, Ryan whipped out his camera in an effort to one-up the talk-show host. “It’s not quite Ellen-status…but still quite a selfie!” he wrote with the pic above.

Anne Rice fights back against Amazon bullies

$

Bestselling author Anne Rice is fed up with bad reviewers – not the kind that leave negative reviews but the type of trolls that actively bully authors.

Author bullying has long been a problem on online sites Amazon and Goodreads, where users can hide under pseudonyms while they attack authors they dislike. Numerous authors have reported organized campaigns against them, which has led to sites such as Stop the Goodreads Bullies and the opposing site Readers Have Rights. Amazon bullying was most recently in the news when U.K. mystery writer Lynn Shepherd called upon Harry Potter scribe J.K. Rowling to stop writing and reviewers flooded her Amazon pages with one-star reviews while admitting to never having read her books.

Now Rice and others have signed on to a petition calling upon Amazon to remove anonymity from reviews and forum participation.

In her entry on the petition, Rice states “My experience with the gangster bullies in the Forum has been very bleak and ugly . . . I feel a lot of these people are obsessive abusers who have found some sort of dark home on Amazon tormenting writers.” Rice stresses on her Facebook page that she thinks Amazon reviews are valuable and she has no problem with them. It’s very specifically the bullying that she wants to end: “Amazon is such a wonderful system and so many go there to offer heartfelt authentic customer reviews of the books they read; too bad that the anti-author bullies have misused and abused anonymity there for their endless preying on writers. They are a tiny minority, true, but to the authors they harass and torment and endlessly attack, they are no joking matter.”

In an interview with the Guardian, petition organizer Todd Barselow says he was inspired to launch the action after Rice was attacked in an Amazon forum where she was offering advice to aspiring writers.

"Then the bullies, trolls, jerks, whatever you want to call them, found the thread. That's when the attacks started happening. It got very ugly very fast … With each attack, Anne tried to diffuse the situation and out these people for what they are: bullies. Well, that just made them frenzy even more. Eventually, I left the thread. It got too ugly for me. Anne stuck it out for a while, but finally she called it quits, too."

Amazon has not yet responded, but the petition has more than 3,100 signatories.

Star Trek star pleads guilty to drink driving

Hollywood star Chris Pine told police he had drunk four vodkas when he failed a drink-drive test, a court has been told.

Pine, 33, pleaded guilty when he appeared in Ashburton District Court this morning.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Mike Wingfield told the court Pine was caught driving with 113 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood early on March 1 at a checkpoint in Methven.

Pine claimed he had consumed four vodkas.

The legal limit for adult drivers in New Zealand is 80 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

Pine had been in the district for the filming of his latest movie Z for Zachariah, and had just left a party at the Blue Pub in Methven.

Chris-Pine

Ashburton lawyer Marilyn Gilchrist, who represented Pine, asked for a discharge without conviction.

Despite all the international interest, a conviction would outweigh the gravity of the offence, she said.

She pointed to the difficulties he would have entering Canada with visa restrictions.

Judge Joanna Maze acknowledged Pine had made a considerable donation to Cure Kids, and his previous good record.

"This issue of a visa will be a complication, but you're no different to other people who may wish to travel to Canada," Judge Maze said.

She convicted Pine, fined him $400 and disqualified him from driving for six months.

Before Pine appeared Judge Maze heard applications from media to determine who would be allowed in the court room.

Ms Gilchrist argued said the overwhelming interest in the matter was salacious and sensational and the public needed to know only the outcome of the hearing.

Media in the gallery were warned about breaching instructions on the use of electronic equipment.

Britney Spears has congratulated Jamie Lynn Spears on her wedding day.

The 'Toxic' singer described the nuptials as ''magical'' when she took to Twitter to express her excitement after her younger sister tied the knot with fiance, Jamie Watson, in New Orleans on Friday (14.03.14).
Britney tweeted:

''Yesterday was magical. So happy I could be a part of my little sister's big day. Congrats @jamielynnspears!!(sic)''.

The congratulatory message comes after reports there had been ''lots of tears'' from guests at the '' very emotional'' ceremony which took place at Audobon Tea Room Garden.

Jamie Lynn was accompanied down the aisle by her father, Jamie while her five-year-old daughter Maddie - whom she had with ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge - led the proceedings as flower girl.

According to US Weekly, Britney's sons Sean, 8 and Jayden, 7, also played a role and were both dressed in black tuxedos and white bowties.

A source revealed to the magazine: ''It was a beautiful ceremony and very emotional. Jamie Lynn was crying during the vows and Jamie looked like the happiest guy I've ever seen get married.''

The duo sparked speculation they were getting hitched after it emerged they obtained a marriage licence from Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Courts earlier this month.

One of the glaring omissions on the US edition of Enrique Iglesias‘ imminent Sex + Love album is Jennifer Lopez duet “Physical”. A remix of the rowdy party anthem leaked in 2013 and was generally well received by fans, so it’s some consolation that the finished version finds a home on the LP’s international release.

“Tonight we’re going all the way, you want my lips to kiss the pain away,” chirps Jennifer over perky euro-synths before Enrique declares “I’m on a mission to take you to my room”. After that tantalizing exchange they both let loose in the cheesy (in a good way) chorus. The final version of “Physical” doesn’t sound that different from the remix. It’s just tighter and there’s no rap from Snoop Dogg. Listen to the gem after the jump.

Katy Perry: I now consider myself a feminist

$

When newly single Katy Perry visited Australia, all Karl Stefanovic wanted to do was find her a nice Aussie bloke.
But The Today Show host's taste in men left a lot to be desired, and his dating suggestions did not go down so well with the Roar singer.

During the interview, filmed earlier this month when the pop star was in Australia to promote her upcoming Prismatic world tour, Karl began by showing Katy a picture of Hugh Jackman - but she was not interested.

'Doesn't he have like a wife and children?' she asked.

The Today host quickly moved onto his next picture, which was of Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

'Oh…. Speedos,' Katy said awkwardly, before Karl told her it was the PM.

'Oh Tony! Oh my gosh we had a conversation on the phone one time,' she said, referencing a radio interview last year during which the pop star quizzed the PM about gay marriage.

'It didn't go so well but they still let me into the country.'

Karl wouldn't let Katy off that easily, and he asked her: '[Tony] looks good doesn't he?'

'Sure, if that's what you're in to…' Katy replied.

The funniest suggestion came when Karl showed Katy a picture of Shane Warne and told her Warnie was a cricketer.

'Does that mean he's like an insect whisperer?' Katy asked.

Karl burst out laughing before telling the singer: 'He does a lot of whispering...'

And it seems Warnie himself might be interested.

The cricketer was watching Today this morning and tweeted: 'Just flicked on the TV & watching the #todayshow ! What's this Katy Perry interview @karlstefanovic ?'

Karl covered a number of other topics with the Hot n Cold singer, including Karl's entertainment interviewing history and feminism.

Karl told Katy she was one of his first entertainment interviews ever.

'I just normally host the program, like breakfast TV,' he said.

'I'm so glad I could be your first,' Katy told Karl at the end of the interview.

He responded: 'Me too. You're crazy. Crazy woman.'

Karl also asked Katy is she considered herself a feminist.

'I used to not really understand what that word meant but now that I do, it just means that I love myself as a female and I also love men,' she said.

'I am woman… Hear me roar!'

Scarlett Johansson has no regrets quitting Oxfam for SodaStream

$

Scarlett Johansson has said she stands by her decision to appear in an advertising campaign for the Israeli-based soft drinks company SodaStream, which has a factory in a settlement on West Bank.

Johansson denied her deal with the brand – which led to her quitting as an ambassador for Oxfam – was a mistake.

She said: “No, I stand behind that decision,” adding, in an interview with the Observer: “I was aware of that particular factory before I signed. And it still doesn’t seem like a problem – at least not until someone comes up with a solution to the closing of that factory and leaving all those people destitute.”

Johansson quit her role as an ambassador for Oxfam in January after working with the charity for eight years.

At the time, Oxfam had come under fire from pro-Palestinian campaigners over the placement of SodaStream’s factory, as the charity considers Israeli settlements on the West Bank to be illegal.

Oxfam had written to Johansson to explain that while the celebrities who volunteer to help the charity are independent, as an organisation it officially “believes that businesses that operate in settlements further the ongoing poverty and denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support”.

Johansson said she now understands that British opinion on the status of the West Bank is more clear cut than she has found elsewhere, but the fact that the UN, the Red Cross and the International Court of Justice have all agreed the factory clashes with international law, has not changed her mind on the issue.

She said the case against the factory was not clear, and something that is “very easily debatable”.

“In that case… I was literally plunged into a conversation that’s way grander and larger than that particular issue. And there’s no right side or wrong side leaning on this issue,” she added.

Johansson also alleged that Oxfam had supported and funded a BDS (boycott, divest, sanctions) movement, which the charity denies.

She said: “I think for a non-governmental organisation to be supporting something that’s a political cause… something feels not right about that to me. There’s plenty of evidence that Oxfam does support and has funded a BDS movement in the past. It’s something that can’t really be denied.”

The ad campaign for SodaStream that caused the furore was due to be shown during the Super Bowl ad break earlier this year, but was banned by broadcaster Fox for the inclusion of the line: “Sorry, Coke and Pepsi”.

The campaign aimed to promote SodaStream as an ethical soft-drinks company as it does not use plastic bottles, unlike Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

'The Walking Dead': Predictions For Tonight's Episode 'The Grove'

$
0
0

Only three episodes remain on the fourth season of "The Walking Dead." The first of those three airs tonight, and it's called "The Grove."It's also the one episode of the season you absolutely can't miss.

At least, that's the case according to Robert Kirkman, executive producer and writer on the show, and writer and creator of the "Walking Dead" comic books. In a recent interview, Kirkman said this about Sunday's hour: "If there is one episode of 'The Walking Dead' that you absolutely had to watch this season, it would be this one."

It certainly sounds like "The Grove" will be a bit of a jaw-dropper. What kind of bombshell will drop on tonight's episode? Here are some of our guesses:

1. Tyreese and Carol have it out. Both characters are heavily featured in the previews for tonight's "Walking Dead." Tyreese still doesn't know that Carol killed Karen. Carol still keeps that secret. But that secret is going to come out, and it's very likely that it'll come out tonight. The question is, what happens once the cat is out of the bag? Can Tyreese keep his emotions in check, or will there be blood?

2. Lizzie will be revealed. There have been enough clues that Lizzie is the one who was tormenting rats in the prison. Just look at the way she tried to "pacify" baby Judith; not exactly a model babysitter. Lizzie seems like a true psychopath in the making. If she's revealed to the rest of the group tonight, what happens? Will she kill someone in the group — possibly even Judith? Or will someone like Tyreese or Carol put her down before Lizzie can do anymore damage?

3. The group reunites. Here's the description for tonight's episode: "After finding an idyllic place to establish a new shelter, the group starts to question whether it is possible to go back to the way things were." The way that's phrased — referring to the episode's characters as "the group"— suggests that multiple story lines could intersect as soon as tonight.

Peter Dinklage on Season 4: Tyrion “reaches a breaking point”

$
0
0

Vanity Fair has released more of their interview with Peter Dinklage, featured in the Game of Thrones April 2014 issue of the magazine.

As we’ve seen in the Season 4 trailers, Tyrion finds himself in a bit of trouble. Peter talks about what we can expect from Tyrion in the upcoming season, and how the trials and tribulations will cause a change in him as he reaches his breaking point.

Can you say something about what happens with Tyrion in Season Four?

He sort of reaches a breaking point. He comes to a point where it’s difficult to have a sense of humor about his circumstances, and he really just wants the truth to be heard. He reaches the point where he’s very tired of all the lies. He become as non-characteristic of a Lannister as you can get.

Up until now, it seems like Tyrion has been able to keep his cool, for the most part.

He definitely reaches a breaking point, which is great, because he’s a character who has always taken everything in stride. So the circumstances around someone like Tyrion have to be really dire for him not to take it in stride or with a sense of humor. What I love so much about this TV show and what I love about any character—the thing I’m drawn to is change. If the character doesn’t change, especially in a TV series, it’s not interesting to me. The reason I like Breaking Bad, which is still probably my favorite show, is Walter White. You watch him transform, and that’s so fascinating. And I think a lot of TV shows that aren’t successful, it’s because the characters become stagnant. If they’re popular at the beginning, writers continue with what is successful, but that becomes tedious to me, as an actor and as a viewer. And our source material and our writers have embraced change.

Will you miss playing Tyrion as a wise guy who always has a quip?

At his heart, he can’t help himself. He will always be that guy, but I certainly don’t mind change. I think everybody goes through changes, and the same should be said for fictional characters, especially ones that you follow on television.

sooooo how do you guys think the tyrion and tyrion/shae storyline will play out on the show?

Tilda Swinton Is Impressed By Tom Hiddleston

$

Tilda Swinton has revealed that Tom Hiddleston is a great impressionist.

The Grand Budapest Hotel actress, who worked with Tom on Jim Jarmusch's vampire film Only Lovers Left Alive, admitted he would often do impersonations of his former co-stars Owen Wilson, Chris Hemsworth, and even War Horse's Joey.

"We just sort of chewed it and had a great time. We were nocturnal quite a lot, and we played all sorts of silly stuff. He does quite a lot of impressions pretty constantly," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

While she never saw his best impression of her, Tilda joked: "I don't know, I haven't seen it! I'm doubtless, but I have seen his Jim Jarmusch and it's very good!"

The 53-year-old, who starred in We Need To Talk About Kevin, The Chronicles Of Narnia, and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, now prefers to work with friends.

"I'm in this really lucky position where I'm working with my friends, and they either ring me up or send me an email and say, 'Do you want to play on this?'," she continued.

"Whether it's Wes Anderson saying, 'Do you want to come and be this old lady for five minutes, or even less?' - less than five minutes, I would say! - or Jim ringing me up and saying, 'Should we make a vampire film?' which took us eight years to finally make! They're my friends, I'd hang out with them anyway, but to hang out with them and make a film is wonderful."

Tilda added: "And Bong Joon-Ho, with whom I made Snowpiercer, which is really going to blow everybody out of the water, that was the same thing. I hadn't worked with him before, but he's a new friend, and that was a delight, working with him."

Why Tilda, you're not the only one impressed with Hiddles...
