Nicolas Cage's new movie, Mandy, hit select theaters and VOD this week. In it he plays a lumberjack whose girlfriend gets abducted by a violent sex cult and enacts revenge. He talked a little bit about how memes may or may not affect how people view his movies now.

“The issue is, with the advent of the internet, doing these mashups, where they pull these choice moments without the context of the whole film around it to support it, has created this meme-ification, if you will. It’s been branded “Cage Rage,” and it’s frustrating.

"I did make certain choices to realize my abstract and more ontological fantasies with film performance, by playing people who were crazy, or by playing people who were on drugs, or supernaturally possessed..." THe veteran actor added that he took liberty with experimentation.

Mandy isn't going to smash like The Nun but genre aficionados are really into this movie, getting praise for its hallucinatory surrealism and fever dream approach. You can watch the trailer at the post.

- Lily had never met Cheryl Tweedy-Cole-Fernandez-Versini before she wrote the song called Cheryl Tweedy

- She resented Girls Aloud's success and that they were "taking their clothes off with wild abandon and being loved and rewarded for it. I couldn’t take it."

- Lily said she was struggling with her sexuality and frustrated that she had never had an orgasm

- One of the lyrics from the song was: "Wish I looked just like Cheryl Tweedy"

- Later on Lily denied wanting to look like Cheryl and said "Cheryl, I don’t really want to look like you. I was being ironic. Nobody really wants to look like you, they just think they do"

- Cheryl responded by calling her "a chick with a dick"

- Lily criticized Cheryl's marriage to Ashley Cole and saidCheryl's mother was a stupid bitch if she was proud of her daughter's marriage to a rich footballer

- Lily addresses this in her book by saying, "Imagine writing that. It was such a horrible thing to say. Of course Cheryl’s mum was proud of her. Why wouldn’t she be?"

- Lily apologizes to Cheryl in her book My Thoughts Exactly: "Sorry Cheryl. I was angry because I hadn't come yet. It was ridiculous. I bitched at Cheryl because she insulted me after I provoked her."

The filmmakers who made OP's favorite UFO cult film, The Endless, have just announced that their next project is a sci-fi thriller named Synchronic...

and it's starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan!








According to the source:
The pair will play two New Orleans paramedics, whose lives are ripped apart after encountering a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with bizarre, otherworldly effects.

Jon Lovett Refuses to Appear at 'New York' Magazine Festival After 'Hit Piece' on Mia Farrow

Jon Lovett, the former Obama speechwriter who hosts the popular "Lovett or Leave It" podcast (and cohosts "Pod Save America") was openly identified as the "partner" of journalist Ronan Farrow by the New York Post tonight, after he tweeted his refusal to do a show for New York magazine's Vulture Festival.

(Lovett and Farrow often appear on each other's social media accounts but have never specifically defined their relationship publicly, and so the media has until now tended to skirt around openly identifying them as a couple, using oblique terms like "close friends").

Lovett's refusal to do the festival is a result of New York's profile of Ronan's sister/stepmother Soon-Yi Previn, which was written by one of Woody's oldest friends and defenders and which Lovett terms a "hit piece" on Ronan's mother, Mia Farrow, designed to discredit the allegations by Mia and Woody's daughter Dylan that Allen molested her when she was seven years old.
