At Sunday's playoff game between the Washington Capitals and the Columbus Blue Jackets, 6-year-old Keelan Moxley was watching warmups right behind the glass when Capitals player Brett Connolly saw her and tried to throw her a puck. In the video, you see a jackass behind Keelan grab the puck the first time and hand it to the boy next to her. Connolly decides to give it another go. The same jackass grabs the puck again and hands it to the boy on Keelan's other side, bc men suck. Good guy Connolly is undeterred and decides to throw a puck over the glass a THIRD time and this time the jackass decides to let her have it, probably because there were no other boys nearby.

One of the male commentators says that the "dad" orchestrated the incident to make sure that all three of his kids got pucks, which is bullshit. The man was not related to any of the kids either Keelan or the second boy (dunno about the first kid) and Keelan is an only child.

CBC decided to ask Keelan for her side of the story...

Kathie Lee Gifford sat with Today and talked about how she starts her day, saying she is the definition of a morning person and doesn't need an alarm clock to wake up at 2am.

No, I’m not a snoozer,” the 64-year-old quipped to co-host Sheinelle Jones. “I don’t even have an alarm. I’ve been doing it for… since the 1800s before there were alarm clocks!”

"Then I lay there and pray for sinners like you, Sheinelle,” Gifford said with a laugh. “I pray. I strategize. I think. I linger.” She added that two hours later at 4am she gets out of bed and walks her dogs.

Kathie recently revealed she doesn't judge Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby and asks people to give them mercy.

-Lewis was performing in Las Vegas and of Borland, he said, "F*** that motherf***er!"
-The feud stems from them running into each other at the airport. Borland said he was going back home to LA, while Lewis wasn't pleased with that, pointing out that Florida is his real home and that he shouldn't forget where he came from.
-Borland has lived in LA longer than he ever lived in Florida and called Lewis a "d*ckhead"
-Lewis then called Borland a "bougie motherf***er"

Rachel Platten apologizes for fucking up the national anthem twice

Platten was doing the honors at the home debut of the Utah Royals FC in a National Women's Soccer League match in Sandy, Utah, on Saturday. Platten was so nervous about singing the anthem she had to start over. During the second time she forgot the lyrics and asked the crowd for help. Platten has issued an apology,"I was so nervous going into it. The anthem is such a big deal; it's probably the most important song for our country. I always get nervous because it means so much because it is so powerful. I always want to do it justice, do a good job and give people the exact version they expect and they want." Platten isn't the first to fuck up the anthem: Oreo Queen Christina Aguilera managed to fuck up the lyrics and banshee growl, “What so proudly we watched, at the twilight's last reaming", while Michael Bolton flubbed and looked into his hand where he wrote down the lyrics like a math equation (PEMDAS).

- About the title-track drama with Travis and Rihanna:
“I remember texting [Scott] like, ‘Yo, this is my shit, I want to name my album Joyride,’. Then he started dating Rihanna, and he kind of iced me out. It messed up our relationship for a while. I don’t think I spoke to him for six months. But I guess eventually she didn't use the song, and I was like, ‘I still want it! Can I have it back?’. So I got it back, revamped it, took Travis off it, and now it’s a new day!”


It was revealed through Tinashe herself in the Joyride booklet that she had to hire 2 lawyers to help push the Joyride album out:

  • After a series of hospitalizations, Barbara chose "comfort care" in lieu of more treatments.

  • She is one of two women to be both the wife of a U.S. president as well as the mother of one.

ONTD Original: Lurlene McDaniel's 5 saddest books

Teens today have their Harry Potters, their Twilights, their Obama/Trudeau fanfic. Well back in my day we didn't have those types of books. There was an interesting pocket of fiction pre-teen and teen girls loved in the mid-to-late 90s, and most of these books were written by one author: LURLENE MCDANIEL.

If you aren't familiar, Lurlene wrote a ton of books about teen girls. These books had one detail in common: they were all about straight white people. Ok, two things in common: EVERYONE DIED. These books were ALL about people with cancer and people in horrible accidents and everyone died and was miserable. Hearts were broken, lives were ruined before they had a chance to start, and we, the readers, LOVED IT.

All that being said, I have a few personal standouts from the collection. I bring you the 5 saddest books Lurlene McDaniel has written.




5. Till Death Do Us Part

18 year old April has been suffering from headaches and fainting spells and enters the hospital for testing. There she meets the handsome Mark Gianni, a 21 year old with cystic fibrosis. While they both have feelings for each other, April has a jerk of a boyfriend who ruins everything. When April learns the seriousness of her condition(inoperable brain tumor, obviously)everything changes. Will April and Mark get together?(Yes, duh)Will one of them die?(Yes, duh)Who won the beach vacation?(idk)


4. Six Months to Live (Dawn Rochelle #1)

At just 13, Dawn's diagnosed with leukemia. While going through treatment she meets another girl fighting cancer, Sandy. They both go into remission and all seems to be alright...until Sandy gets sick again. Will Sandy live?(Nope)Will Dawn's cancer come back?(Not in this book)


3. She Died Too Young (One Last Wish #9)

The One Last Wish series followed a group of girls with life-threatening illnesses, and while they were all really depressing this one really packed a punch. Chelsea is a teenager who needs a heart transplant to live. While waiting for her transplant she meets a girl named Jillian who also needs a heart transplant. So they're waiting for a heart that only one of them can get, and the other one will likely die. There's also a subplot with Chelsea wanting to bone Jillian's hot twin brother Josh but come on Lurlene, we have more important things to worry about.

Will Chelsea get a heart transplant?(Yup)What about Jillian?(Nope, RIP)Will Chelsea and Josh get together?(Who cares he sucks)


2. Don't Die, My Love

Julie and Luke are high school sweethearts who are madly in love and planning their future together. A happy young couple without a care in the world? Not in McDaniel's world. Luke comes down with a flu that won't go away(Cancer, obviously). What does this mean for the young couple's future?(NOT GOOD THINGS)


1. The Angels Series

As I always do when I make lists I'm completely cheating by putting a series on here. So while our girl Lurlene wrote some depressing stories, they all seem to end with kind of a "good things can come out of horrible situations" message. Not the motherfuckin' Angels trilogy, no sir. This series teaches you that everyone you care about will die and love isn't real and existence is pain.

Leah goes into the hospital with what she suspects is a broken finger, but finds out she has leukemia. While in the hospital her roommate is a little Amish girl named Rebekah. Rebekah has an older brother named Ethan who is FIIIIINE and Leah is all over. Then an angel randomly shows up and cures them but no one really cares about that lbr.

That all sounds nice and wholesome, right? Except after that first book everything explodes.Rebekah dies when she gets run over by a fucking TRACTOR, which shakes up the entire family. Ethan has his Rumspringa and moves in with Leah and her family, and they start seriously dating. Then Leah's stepfather gets diagnosed with terminal cancer because there wasn't enough cancer in this series, and right after the diagnosis Ethan decides he'd rather be Amish and goes home. Leah's stepfather dies, Leah's all sad about Ethan, no one is happy ever again. THE END.

Meet the cast of 'MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER'

With less than two months away from the premiere of “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” it's time to meet the rest of the cast.


Tandy Bowen (played by Olivia Holt) was once privileged little girl, who watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event.


Tyrone Johnson (played by Aubrey Joseph) is young man who wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever.


Detective Brigid O’Reilly (played by Emma Lahana) is accustomed to working in a man’s world but she isn’t looking to be “one of the guys”. Her New York sensibilities have hardened her from being too friendly or open, setting her apart from her Louisiana counterparts. Brigid believes in justice and doesn’t think that anyone should be above it, including other cops. Especially other cops.


Father Delgado (played by Jaime Zevallos) is constantly seeking redemption in spite of the fact that he’s not sure that he deserves it. As a school counselor and priest, Delgado is a rock to Ty. Oppressed by the collar, he leads more through words than example, as he still struggles daily with the life he has chosen.


Detective Connors (played by J.D. Evermore) is contradiction of a man. Connors embraces an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest.


Liam (played by Carl Lundstedt) is a salt-of-the-earth townie. Liam operates as Tandy’s partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend. But underneath this rough-around-the-edges appearance, Liam has big dreams. All of them include Tandy.


Melissa Bowen (played by Andrea Roth) is the eternal optimist, despite struggles to adapt to her new existence. She’s complex and compromised, and often needs to fill her edges, but her love for her daughter burns brightly outside.


Adina Johnson (played by Gloria Reuben) invests every aspect of her being into giving her son the life she believes he deserves. But she props up and protects Tyrone so much she almost forgets to love him.


Otis Johnson (played by Miles Mussenden) trudges through his desk job to keep his family safe and happy. All while too-quietly mourners a loss. When he can, this working-class father does what he can to ensure his son Tyrone will grow up to be a man.



This is their chance to take back what the world has stolen from them. Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger premieres Thursday, June 7 on Freeform.

• Princess of Pop Britney Spears shared a new SnapChat video via her official Twitter: in it, Spears serves vocals in alcapono acappella to the Aretha Franklin classic, “Think.”

• Disguised with Snapchat’s pink-hued bunny filter, the "Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortés)" singer traded Franklin’s signature gospel notes with a high-pitched Alvin & the chipmunks tone...again.

• This isn't the first time Spears has done this and Stans on Twitter were quick to share an unpitched version (behind the cut).

Fiona Apple's Tidal in 5 minutes

🍎 At 8 years old, Fiona became proficient at piano by playing lead sheets for classic jazz tunes. She would then buy the records to see if she came close to the recording. Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday were among her favorites.



🍎 She recorded a 3 song demo tape which included "Never Is A Promise". According to Fiona, she wrote the song when she was 16, after hearing the boy to whom she’d recently lost her virginity express interest in another girl. Other songs featured on the tape were “He Takes a Taxi” and “Not One of Those Times”, which remain unreleased.




🍎 One of the first copies she made of the tape found its way from her friend Anna, who was babysitting for a music publicist, to Andy Slater-who became Fiona’s manager and swiftly produced Tidal.



🍎 On July 23 1996, Tidal was released into the world when Fiona was just 18-years-old. She was pressed to come up with a title before the deadline, and chose Tidal as a play on how similar it sounded to “title.” It would also reflect the ebb-and-flow of her tumultuous journey. The sophisticated compositions, poetic lyrical content, and captivating delivery immediately drew comparisons to legends she once looked up to as a child.



🍎 "Shadowboxer" was the first single.



Others singles included "Sleep To Dream", "The First Taste", and "Never Is A Promise".



🍎 "Criminal" was written in 45 minutes to satisfy her label's demand for a hit. It became the biggest song of her career and won her a Grammy. The album went platinum within one year, and has sold more than 3 million to date.



🍎 It even influenced Kanye's Late Registration!

Jared Harris & The Terror showrunners discuss episode 5, "First Shot a Winner, Lads"

Jared Harris (Captain Crozier) and showrunners David Kajganich and Soo Hugh discuss Episode 5 of The Terror. Summary of what they discussed under the cut, proceed at your own risk!

  • The bulk of their discussion is centered on the scene where Lady Silence is brought to Crozier to tell them what she knows about the creature.

  • Crozier "gets pretty bad" toward Lady Silence in this scene, and Jared talks about the need to have nuanced characters that the audience can have empathy for but also be repelled by.

  • In the scene, Blanky says that Tuunbaq is similar to a word for "a spirit who dresses as an animal", but the scene ends without us knowing if that's the creature hunting the ships.

  • They discuss the culture clash between Lady Silence and the men; Lady Silence wouldn't talk about the Tuunbaq with outsiders, but in the scene Crozier wants to know how to kill the creature.

  • Their conversation is further complicated by the arrival of Captain Fitzjames: "It's like a western saloon scene. You know, where people keep coming into the scene and it can veer on comedy."

  • Then they all discuss the scene where Tuunbaq attacks and chases Blanky up the mast, which was shot over a few weeks, and how much of the monster to show to the audience.
