Mr. Columbus, are you ready for Freddy? #FiveNightsatFreddyspic.twitter.com/4F7QEnw16x

Chris Columbus will be writing, directing, and producing the film based on the popular series of horror games where a security guard must survive a night with creepy and hostile animatronics.
The movie was initially in production with WB/New Line and had hired Gil Kenan (the flop Poltergeist with Sam Rockwell) to direct, but it seemed to fall into development hell. Then they put the rights in a turnaround last March, and Blumhouse was able to woo over creator Scott Cawthon.
Cawthon will produce alongside Columbus and Jason Blum and will make a truckload of money thanks to Blum's microbudget methods.
The franchise has six different games, a series of novels, and a shit ton of merchandise that can be found in Targets and Game Stops and etc
