"Mayo of the Woods" sounds awkward, the album lurches from funk-rock to Nashville and back again and some of the tracks are flatout awful. You can see what they’ve tried to do on Wave – stick a perky walking-bassline country song over a half-speed R&B slow jam beat – but the overall effect is just horrible. Mayo has a track titled "Flannel", the album cut deals in one of country’s least appealing aspects, schmaltz. Mayo of The Woods' tracks tries to infuse country, southern rock or R&B so much as the surfer-friendly, reggae-tinged acoustic pop of Jack Johnson, which is a pretty peculiar end result, given the intention. Mayo fails to give us the Post Modern Americana beats or whatever mayo was trying to aim for with that bizarre trailer. Instead Mayo just left us with budget Stetson commerical visuals.

Hilary Duff on how motherhood helped find her true self

-Hilary says since becoming a mother, she feels her feet are fully on the ground. She said the role of Lizzie has helped made her who she is today and made her happy.

-It took her a few years to become her own person outside of motherhood. She states that she's had such a long career, and when she looks back she doesn't recognize that girl. Hilary says since she's turned 30 she has never felt better.

-She says some days she's feeling great and she feels like she can take on anything or anyone on social media, then other days not. She states being a woman, half the month we are on fire and other half can't get it together. Hilary says when it comes to people scrutinizing her about her body, she doesn't care what people think. "They don't live in this skin or this body, I do."

-Hilary says when she was younger she was touring a lot and had a clothing line, but lost interest in it even though it was hugely successful. She said it wasn't her style anymore and she lost control over it, everyone thought she was insane for shutting it all down. She was only 18 at the time, she says she doesn't want to sell a product that's not authentic to her.

-She says she thinks about touring, states she put a record out two and half years ago. When she looks at what really makes her happy, its recording and writing music and obviously performing. She says her kid is #1 and just doesn't want to miss out on the big parts of his life. Prioritizing and figuring out what you're really good at is important.

-Says she was really late to Twitter, and she's obsessed with Instagram. Its part of my business, she states she does a good job of not posting for a week cause she feels uninspired.

-My partnership with glassesUSA was showing my personality, she says she wants other woman to feel confident with wearing something on their face. Feeling like, you don't have to be stuck with only one look. They are priced very reasonable, but they are super good quality. She says he loves style and design, she got to create a line of glasses that she wants to wear and I think other people will like. She says it was a really creative process and fulfilling for her.

-She says women are strong and powerful and deserved to be heard, naming these glasses after women who have been true pioneers and fighters. "Why wouldn't you want to throw these on and think of Joan of Arc or Marilyn Monroe. I thought it was a cool and fun idea. "

Last night at the Grammys, Alessia Cara won a Grammy for Best New Artist, but not too many people were happy with her win. Some people cited that she debuted as an artist over 2 years ago, while others thought the other nominees were more deserving.

Kelly Clarkson wanted Kesha to Win "Best Pop Solo" Grammy! + Praying Re-enters iTunes Top 10

When asked by Extra who she was rooting for, queen Kelly Clarkson kept it real: "Oddly enough, I mean I'm against her, but I'm rooting for Kesha. You know, I think it's such a personal song and as a songwriter myself [who writes] those songs that really bare all, where you really need to be honest with yourself and with everyone. You know, I'm against her, but I wouldn't be sad if she won it. She deserves this one."

No word on if Kelly is sad that the Grammy was snatched by an entitled orange troll who threw a tantrum when he wasn't nominated for bigger awards, and then wasn't even grateful enough to show up.

Revelations from Rose McGowan’s memoir “Brave”

Rose McGowan's new book Brave is out Tuesday and TWP has posted some of the more interesting parts of the book.

She won't name Robert Rodriguez or Harvey Weinstein in the book but refers to them as “RR” or “the Pig Monster.” She details events that paint Robert as an extremely jealous person. One story involves a kiss she was supposed to have with the actor Freddy Rodriguez for Planet Terror. McGowan claims the director was so possessive, he shaved his facial hair in the same pattern as the actor so he could do the scene instead of Freddy. She also talks about how hard it was for her when her boyfriend sold her film to her rapist.


“I can’t tell you what it’s like to be sold into the hands of the man who had assaulted me and scarred me for life,” she writes. “I had to do press events with the Monster and see photos of us together, his big fat paw pulling me in to his body.”

On the topic of Harvey Weinstein, she details what was already known about him from previous stories. He performed oral sex on her against her will. The rest is widely known. He paid her $100,000, as the New York Times reported, and she believes he blacklisted her from the industry.

She also discusses the story that circulated that she was in a car accident and her plastic surgery was to fix the damage. This was a lie. While filming Planet Terror in 2007, she suffered an injury on set. She had surgery to fix it but the operation went badly and the surgeon punctured a hole in her skin below her right eye. She needed reconstructive surgery, which left her eye looking slightly pinched, so she also had surgery on her left eye to keep things symmetrical.

“I told my publicists what happened and they said to say it was a car accident,” McGowan writes. “Looking back, I don’t know why it mattered but I took that advice. And so when I was asked by the press, that became the party line.”

She also talks about life on the Charmed set. She describes it as "soul-crushing and exhausting" and claims they only had one female director in her fives years on the cast. The crew treated the female director terribly. The mostly male crew “would snicker in disrespect when she would direct them,” McGowan writes. “I feel horribly about not fighting for her more, but I didn’t fully understand the dynamics of what was happening. My character was too busy talking to leprechauns to have the time.”

Logic allegedly pretended to be a high school student to scam a nonprofit on a music video shoot

While shooting the music video for his song Super Mario World, Logic wanted to film on a historic oil tanker, but in order to avoid paying a location fee, he pretended to be a high school student. Logic who is 28, lied to the ship's owner and said he and his costar in the Mario costume were students at Glen Cove High School and they wanted to film for a school project. The owner says she believed them because Logic is scrawny.

Carolina Salguero confirmed in an email to his graying videographer, who she was led to believe was his dad, that they were told they could film for free if they agreed to give her a explanation of what the project was, a copy of the finished project, and properly credit the ship and the people in the video.

They usually charge TV and film productions $5,000 to film for a half-day. A New York DGA union location manager confirmed that the ship had been a listed production location since 2015.

She later discovered that they Logic was lying and not only was he not a high school student, but he was a major label artist shooting a music video. She then contacted one of his managers in December of 2016 who said UMG Def Jam handles the video budgets and their offices are closed for the holidays but they should be able to take care of it in the new year. In January 2017 he said they were still working on it and then he ghosted her.

She says it's also embarrassing because she would never have agreed to dance in a video in front of millions of people and neither she nor her crew approved of having their likenesses used for a music video.

-Loudwire cites a previous interview with drummer Danny Carey, saying there would be a new album in the first half of 2018. Since then he's changed his story, saying, "2019? Is that what I said? Oh, 2018 (laughs)... Yeah, it’ll be out at some point in 2018."

After months of flop campaigning for Woody Allen's flop movie "Wonder Wheel" and being astonishingly tone-deaf and unable to read the damn room, Kate Winslet has finally realised she's not getting an awardlearned her lessonrealised she's potentially hurt her own career backtracked on her praise for Woody Allen as not only a "incredible" director but a "genius" artist.

Winslet finally chose to address this while accepting an award at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards tonight and had this to say:

“I wouldn’t be able to stand here this evening, and keep to myself some bitter regrets that I have at poor decisions to work with individuals with whom I wish I had not,” she told the crowd, before taking a second to regain her composure.

She continued: “It has become clear to me that by not saying anything, I might be adding to the anguish of many courageous women and men. Sexual abuse is a crime. While it rests with the rule of law to pass judgement, it lies with all of us to listen to the smallest of voices and to never stop listening.”

She finished with this:

"[...] and let us please not make this about which people express public regret.”
