Rose McGowan confirms Harvey Weinstein raped her

In 2016 McGowan revealed in an interview she had been raped by a movie executive without naming who it was.

Since the New York Times allegations against Weinstein came out last Thursday McGowan has been actively supporting the victims on twitter, and implying she was one herself. She has also called on the entire board of the Weinstein Company to resign.

She has not explicitly named Weinstein before which she hinted was due to a settlement that likely included a NDA (non disclosure agreement).

Today she tweeted at Amazon head Jeff Bezos that she had told the head of studio that "HW" had raped her.

She confirmed to THR that HW did infact refer to Harvey Weinstein.

I know a lot of people may think of this as old news but it's the first time she's said it in public, putting herself at risk.

James invites his guests Charlie Puth, Josh Gad, Michelle Dockery and Rachel Bloom to play a game of Spill Your Guts, where you must either answer a tough question or eat something disgusting, like a cow's tongue.
-James was asked to name three of Charlie's songs and he could only remember 'Attention' and 'See You Later' (lmao, he couldn't remember the name either)
-Rachel told Michelle before the show that she loved her in Downton Abbey and then James asked Rachel for the name of Michelle's character and she admitted she hadn't seen the show lol
-Josh was asked if he used Olaf's voice in bed
-Charlie was asked to say who was a better singer Meghan Trainor or Selena Gomez, he threw up instead

Martin Scorsese defends "mother!", slams Rotten Tomatoes and Cinemascore

Filmmaker Martin Scorsese made the following comment on 'mother!'s Cinemascore:

"Many seemed to take joy in the fact that mother! received an F grade from Cinemascore. This actually became a news story. [The movie] had been "slapped" with the "dreaded" Cinemascore F rating, a terrible distinction that it shares with pictures directed by Robert Altman, Jane Campion, William Friedkin and Steven Soderbergh. After I had a chance to see mother!, I was even more disturbed by this rush to judgment. People seemed to be out for blood, simply because the film couldn't be easily defined or interpreted or reduced to a two-word description. Is it a horror movie, or a dark comedy, or a biblical allegory, or a cautionary fable about moral and environmental devastation? Maybe a little of all of the above, but certainly not just any one of those neat categories."

He also slammed Rotten Tomatoes.

"Rotten Tomatoes [has] nothing to do with real film criticism. They rate a picture the way you'd rate a horse at the racetrack, a restaurant in a Zagat's guide, or a household appliance in Consumer Reports. They have everything to do with the movie business and absolutely nothing to do with either the creation or the intelligent viewing of film. The filmmaker is reduced to a content manufacturer and the viewer to an unadventurous consumer.

"These firms and aggregators have set a tone that is hostile to serious filmmakers-even the actual name Rotten Tomatoes is insulting. And as film criticism written by passionately engaged people with actual knowledge of film history has gradually faded from the scene, it seems like there are more and more voices out there engaged in pure judgmentalism, people who seem to take pleasure in seeing films and filmmakers rejected, dismissed and in some cases ripped to shreds. Not unlike the increasingly desperate and bloodthirsty crowd near the end of Darren Aronofsky's mother!"

Jason Momoa issues apology over GOT rape joke

- Back in 2011, at Comic Con, Jason Momoa made this inappropriate joke. It was in reference to his character Khal Drogo:

"As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women”

- Today, the video was making its rounds on Twitter and Jason issued an apology on his Instagram

"I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago in Hall H for which I am sorry,” Momoa said. “I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day. I know my sincerest apology now won’t take away those hurtful words. Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends.”
He continued: “I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologize with a heavy heart for the words I said.”

- Jason will play Aquaman in the Justice League movie next month. And in a solo Aquaman movie next year

Edit: The woman who posted the vid has taken it down and her Twitter is locked. I hope she wasn't getting threats. :(

“I remember loving that smell when I was young. I’ve heard it’s one of the most preferred scents in the world. Maybe that’s something to study for my next fragrance. Sometimes natural smells are the best. Worryingly, my daughter Lila loves the smell of gasoline, too. She always says, ‘Mummy, keep the door open,’ when I’m filling up the car.”

Horror production company Dread Central mocks Weinstein victims with "joke" post

$

In a now-deleted post, new horror production company (most recently best-known as a film review site) Dread Central's response to the news of Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulting hundreds of women in Hollywood was to... make a punch-down joke about it. Under the pseudonym "Gale Weathers" (perhaps to cleverly tie things back to outspoken survivor Rose McGowan, who starred in Scream, or, more likely, to cowardly avoid any accountability for whomever truly wrote the "article"), Dread Central wrote:

Today, Dread Central launched its horror film distribution deal with Epic Pictures, called Dread Central Presents, in which the site moves from list-icle genre reviews to actually finance, produce and distribute feature horror films under the new label. One wonders if the immediate deletion of its Weinstein post has anything to do with that.

Coming on the heels of a Los Angeles based women's genre festival tweet on the situation, which some have interpreted as shading Weinstein's other victims for waiting too long to speak out - as well as constant continued support for Devin Faraci and Victor Salva among several noted genre journalists throughout Los Angeles - this isn't a great look for the local film/horror community.

Oliver Stone Comments On Weinstein

Stone is serving as chair at Busan International Film Festival

“I'm a believer that you wait until this thing gets to trial," Stone said, continuing: "I believe a man shouldn't be condemned by a vigilante system. It's not easy what he's going through, either. During that period he was a rival. I never did business with him and I didn't really know him. I've heard horror stories on everyone in the business. So, I'm not going to comment on gossip. I'll wait and see, which is the right thing to do."

colesprouse Excited to show you guys my cover and story for L'uomo Vogue this month, starring @samsmithworld Pick up a copy if you see it, I'll be posting some of the other shots over the next couple days. Keep up.
Thanks to the love of my life, the timeless @rushkabergman for styling, and the team over at @avenue_53 for helping. As always, special thanks goes to @glenn_wassall and Helena.

In an interview Sam Smith talked about how his time in Iraq changed him:

“I spent five days in Mosul and came back embarrassed that I had known so little about the world and other people’s lives,”

“I went back to that great Nina Simone quote, that it is important to speak about the times you live in. I hadn't done that; I’d just written a bunch of songs about love. So I wanted to write about how I’m now starting to open my eyes, at 25, to what is going on in the rest of the world, and that it’s not always pretty.”

Nina Simone seems to be of particular importance to his personal journey of discovery as he also mentioned her early last year when he discovered racism for the first time:
