Daisuke Maki of EXILE, Verbal of M-Flo and DJ Daruma Seriously Injured In Car Accident

- The trio were traveling to perform for a Sandaime J Soul Brothers concert in Hokkaido (which was cancelled following news of the incident).

- The passenger van that they were riding in was leaving a convienience store parking lot when the vehicle was broadsided by an oncoming truck after midnight.

- Verbal and DJ Daruma received serious injuries while Daisuke Maki was severely injured.  The conditions of the other four passengers have not been released.

- Taku Takahashi (other half of M-Flo) tweeted to fans about the accident:

ONTD ORIGINAL: 12 MEXICAN ESCANDALOS OF 2016! (PART 1)

As the year is about to be over(thank Gawd!), and because I was bored and I love my beautiful corruption-filled country, I decided to make a post with the 12 Mexican scandals that kept Ventaneando, TVnotas and the other off-brands afloat this 2016.

So without further ado, PART ONE is right here!

Kate del Castillo meets up with "El Chapo"


Average Actress, Kate del Castillo, kicked off the year with the news (which she first denied) that she had met up with Drug Lord Joaquin Guzman Loera several times in 2015 to try and squeeze some drug money out of him to produce serveral projects, among them, a movie about El Chapo's life. An "Alleged"  woman beater with melting face was also involved but nobody came from him in America or Mexico.

Not only that, but apparently, Guzman Loera really wanted to hit that thing, based on several pathetic text messages he sent to Ms. del Castillo. I let you the most cringeworthy below:

  1. "Let me tell you, I don't drink, but (I can tell you that) your presence will be something beautiful because I can't wait to meet you and be really good friends. You're the best of this world!"

  2. "Good afternoon, how is the best woman in this word? And the most intelligent! I admire you so much".

  3. "Friend, we need to see each other. Everything here is secure, if it wasn't I wouldn't invite you over...My mom wants to meet you. I told her about you."

Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto, & ex-novela actress, La Gaviota, didn't really get married
The idiot we have as a president, and "proud" inspiration of THOUSANDS of memes, isnotastrangerto scandals.

One of them happened in February, when it was reveled that Angélica Rivera's previous religious marriage to José Alberto Castro (brother of Verónica Castro) wasn't really nulified by the time she got married to Peña Nieto in 2010. People then speculated that the whole wedding was just an act to trick people and make the then candidate more relatable and known to the general public, as Rivera was more famous due to all the novelas she had stared in.

This charade brought the father that married them, José Luis Salinas Aranda, ecclesiastic scrutiny and  later the lost of his parish. Father Salinas was a personality himself by appearing in several novelas and officiating various celebrity weddings.



Gerardo Ortiz (who?) kills his girlfriend and her sidepiece in music video

Banda/corrido/or something singer famous among buchon@s and other drug dealer wannabes came under fire for his sexist video, "fuiste mía" ("You were mine"). In the video, Ortiz kills the guy his girlfriend is cheating with, then, ties the girl up, puts her in the trunk of his car, drives to a deserted area, and finally burns the car with the girl inside.

The video was heavily critized by the general public and the government, even generating a change.org petition to remove the video from youtube.

Ortiz didn't give a shit (nor did his stans) later commenting in one of his concerts: "I want to sing you this song that is one of the favorites here in México".


Julión Álvarez likes women that can double as maids

Julión Álvarez is another really popular banda singer that is (was?) a judge in "The Voice México". In April, he was asked what characteristics were the ones that he found more attractive in a woman, he responded with:

"I've fallen in love several times, but what I really like is for her to be a lady. I'm old-school, I like that she knows how to mop, because she might be beautiful and good for a lot of things, but if she doesn't know how to do it, well, to me, she's worthless".

This generated a lot of criticism in social media and sprewed thousands of memes.

He later apologized and recognized that he himself didn't know how to mop.


Belinda refueses to sing the only song she's known for



Ex-child actress, Belinda, better know for her smash hit "Sapito", refused to sing the song when some fans asked her to do it in one of her concerts.

Later, #ladysapito, like she's now known, tried to spin it as if it was all a joke and she was OK with all the memes that were generated after the incident.



The death of "Profesor Jirafales"

"El Chavo del 8" is one of the most beloved shows in Mexico and latinamerica, and on Friday, June 17th, Rubén Aguirre, better known as "profesor Jirafales" died in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at 82 years old. After years of health problems, Aguirre finally died due to pneumonia complications.

Edgar Vivar (Señor Barriga) lamented the death and later published a photo in twitter with the message "the last picture together".

Affleck is currently a fav to win the best actor Oscar for “Manchester By The Sea”. He settled two sexual harassment lawsuits and it’s time to talk about them.

Górka, one of Affleck’s victim, is a cinematographer. Women make up less than 4% of the American Society of Cinematographers, competition is fierce. Now imagine filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against a male director, producer, and actor who is very well connected.

Indiewire talked to women in the industry - most of them said that when it comes to being sexually harassed, it has happened to them or someone they know at some point, sometimes on “nearly every job.”

But what they all agree on is that coming forward would potentially kill your career. That happens because jobs in the industry basically come on recommendations.

Coming forward mostly depends on where you are in your career. If you’re still trying to establish yourself, the victim probably doesn’t want the 'troublemaker' label.

Women in the industry always have to prove they can be ‘one of the guys’ in a male-dominated world, prove they’re good enough for the job, while having to tolerate a lot of ‘locker-room talk’.

On a studio film, when for example a producer is made aware of a sexual harassment incident, studio lawyers immediately get involved to protect the corporation. The same doesn’t happen with indie films - it can be seen as more progressive but there’s no obvious chain of command regarding who you have to report to, and it often doesn’t end well for the person who filed the complaint.

They say the industry is slowly changing and the production world is starting to adjust to women.

Brad Pitt has fired back in his bitter custody battle with Angelina Jolie over their six kids on Thursday by legally requesting to have their divorce proceedings sealed.

Pitt asserts Jolie has "no self-regulating mechanism" when it comes to preventing sensitive information from going public

According to court documents obtained by CNN Jolie's camp opposed that hearing and also alleged Pitt's request was "a thinly veiled attempt to shield himself, rather than the minor children, from public view,".

A&E Cancels KKK Series Because Participants Were Paid

One day after announcing that they would change the title of their upcoming docu-series about young members of the KKK from Generation KKK to Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America, A&E has announced that the show will not air at all. A statement released to the media said:

“A&E learned last night from the third-party producers who made the documentary that cash payments — which we currently understand to be nominal — were made in the field to some participants in order to facilitate access. While we stand behind the intent of the series and the seriousness of the content, these payments are a direct violation of A&E’s policies and practices for a documentary. We had previously provided assurances to the public and to our core partners — including the Anti-Defamation League and Color of Change — that no payment was made to hate group members, and we believed that to be the case at the time. We have now decided not to move forward with airing this project.”

The series had been scheduled to begin airing its eight-episode run on January 10th. Celebrities including Ellen Pompeo had called for a boycott of A&E out of fear that the show would serve to normalize the hate group.
