Ajak Deng unretires from modelling

$

Earlier this week Ajak posted on instagram saying that she was retiring from modeling and moving to Australia because she was tired of fakes and lies. Today, she made another post stating that she changed her mind.

ajak_deng I remember my first season in Milan, walking through the the airport and saw @philipppleininternational campaign. Wishing I could one day be one of the faces up there, NOW all I can say is thank you for making my dream come true.
P.s my first season in Milan, no one booked me and I was so destroyed because they won't booking black girls like me that season and thank god for my sweet and encouraging agent @meansss who told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me and that I was one of the most beautiful girl in the world, so wiped off those tears, come back to New York and let's change their minds one day at a time. She continued to support and still have my back even though I decided to throw it all away after our hard work and for that I came to realize that she is my spirit and a guiding angel.
I was selfish to only think of my self and forgetting the people that has always been there for me through the worst times and good times. I feel like I have touched so many young people's lives, gave them hope. Just because I come from NOTHING does not mean that I can't make something for myself and for that I will still want to continued to touched more lives. Yes sure giving up is easier but who will fight the war that we are so in denial about? I am just getting started and modeling isn't the only Thing I will be successful in, in my life time. I apologize to every kind souls/hearts that I have broken in the past week. I thought giving up was easier but I am going to stay and fight this war with kindness, forgiveness, love and support to all humanity. We are all beautiful and deserved to be respected. #BigLoveToHumanity.

-After beating Gaga to win Best Original Song at the Oscars, Smith Smith dedicated his award to the LGBT community
-Smith misquoted Sir Ian McKellan (who had said no openly gay ACTOR had ever won an Oscar), and said that he was the first openly gay person to ever win
-Ignored achievements of artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Elton John, & Stephen Sondheim who are all gay and have won this very same category previously

Stacey Dash made a surprise appearance at tonight's Oscars in what might be the most over-the-top moment in tonight's Chris Rock Making The Same Joke 50x ceremony.

She explained on her twitter: "When they added ME to increase the diversity, I’m sure many black people rolled their eyes. I’m not “black enough,” they say. But guess what? I’ve heard that all my life. I would rather be a free thinking, black than a cookie cutter black who thinks – and votes – just like all my friends."

Chris Rock made a "joke that involved a stereotype about Asians being good at math (the three children were introduced as PricewaterhouseCoopers accountants with Asian- and Jewish-sounding names), but ended with Rock saying onstage, "If anybody's upset about that joke, just tweet about it on your phone, which was also made by these kids.""

Dustin Lance Black Introduces Himself to Sam Smith, Accuses Him of Trying to Fuck His Fiancé!!!!!!!!

Jenny Beavan addresses her (flawless) Oscar outfit

$

0

- Her choice in outfit has been a topic of discussion before, with Stephen Fry referring to her as a bag lady (they're friends though, and said it's all cool)

- Jenny says she's happy to talk about it because she doesn't do frocks, and "absolutely don't do heels" since she has a bad back. She also says she looks ridiculous in a beautitul gown, which I doubt 'cause this lady has more style in her pinky that half the people in that ceremony

- Says her outfit was a homage to Mad Max, and that she "obviously didn't get it quite right at the Baftas, the scarf was meant to be an oil rag.”

- Felt comfortable and really dressed up

- People have commented on some of the audience members looking like bitter Betties and not applauding Jenny when she won her award

Tidal Facing A $5 million Class Action Lawsuit For Not Paying Artists Royalties

$
0
0

Statement from TIDAL:
TIDAL is up to date on all royalties for the rights to the music stated in Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele’s claim and they are misinformed as to who, if anyone, owes royalty payments to them. As Yesh Music, LLC admits in their claim, TIDAL has the rights to the Master Recordings through its distributor Tunecore and have paid Tunecore in full for such exploitations. Their dispute appears to be over the mechanical licenses, which we are also up to date on payments via Harry Fox Agency our administrator of mechanical royalties.
The main compositions in question were release by The American Dollar and their entire catalogue streamed fewer than 13,000 times on TIDAL and its predecessor over the past year. We have now removed all music associated with Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele from the service. This is the first we have heard of this dispute and Yesh Music, LLC should be engaging Harry Fox Agency if they believe they are owed the royalties claimed. They especially should not be naming S Carter Enterprises, LLC, which has nothing to do with Tidal. This claim serves as nothing other than a perfect example of why America needs Tort reform.

- John Emanuele from the band, the American Dollar filed the suit.
- Tidal ended up streaming 116 of the band's copyrighted songs without paying them any royalties
- Band asked to have their music removed from Tidal service

Sacha Baron Cohen's alter-ego Ali G was banned at the Oscars, he didn't listen

- Sacha Baron Cohen was told he could not present as Ali G.
- He ignored them and had his wife, Isla Fisher, sneak in his costume. They spent 40 minutes in the bathroom putting it on.
- Was nervous about doing it, but pitched it to Chris Rock who gave him the thumbs up.
- He then introduced a clip of the film 'Room' by being gross.

Room didn't deserve this introduction.
