ONTD has introduced me to music from all around the world (mostly K-Pop though lbr). I believe Arabic music could be more appreciated and have some jams here for you all! I hope you enjoy them. If this kicks off, I'll be happy to make more posts like this in the future.

Singer: Syrian
Song: Syrian
Joe Ashkar - Habibet Albi
Title meaning: Love of My Heart
Lyrics: (Chorus)
I want you
I want you to be my wife
I will bring the rings
O prettiest of all brides
Tell them in the meetings
Love of my heartAs creepy as the music video is, the song is very sweet. This "folksy" single was quite a hit in 2010. It's definitely a wedding song, though if you've ever been to an arabian wedding, you'd know this would be one of the sit down and relax your butt songs of the night.

Singer: YemeniSong: KhaleejiBalqees - Yoi YoiTitle meaning: Not a real wordLyrics: (First verse) I'm not here for romance and messes
And he leaves me, and I miss him
Worried, angry, tired, restless
Yoi yoi yoi
(...)
I don't want my heart ripped out
It's too difficult for me, my tears are precious
I'll be crazy to live like this
Yoi yoi yoi
Mother, mother, mother
What brought me so close to him, mother?
Caring about him killed me, mother
Yoi yoi yoiThis is the ultimate single girl jam. The entire song is Balqees rejecting romance because she's sick of the inevitable heartbreak that comes along with it, and the lyrics strongly hint that it's because she hasn't gotten over her last breakup. My friends and I never fail to go off to this song. And if the breakdown at 1:17 doesn't make you want to at least do this...
...then I don't know what to say to you.

Singer: Lebanese
Song: Khaleeji
Myriam Fares - Degou El Toboul
Title meaning: Bang the drums
Lyrics:
(First verse) The world is beautiful, the heart feels the breeze
Yalla, let's sing, for love has a song
The weather is great, the candles are melted
And God brought us all together, the most precious of loversMyriam is a QUEEN. In this song, she declares that life is beautiful, and tonight she's inviting you to sing and dance with her in celebration of that. The music video is her dancing around along with footage of her wedding. It's all really cute.

Singer: LebaneseSong: EgyptainNancy Ajram - Akhasmak AhTitle meaning: I'll be upset with you, yes (LMAO read the lyrics please)Lyrics: (Chorus) I'll be upset with you, yes
I'll leave you, no
Inside my soul you remain my sweetheart, who I love
I love you, yes
And leave you, no
Your love owned me, and my love, I cannot forget you in a daySo... I'm pretty sure that every woman I know wants to strip to this song at some point in their life. As they all should, it's a really sexy song. This song made Nancy Ajram a household name. It's now considered a classic, and will successfully get every person on the room on their feet or at least singing along.

Singer: SyrianSong: SyrianWafeek Habib - Tlobny Al Mot BlabeekTitle meaning: Ask for me when I'm on my deathbed and I will answer (omg)Lyrics: (First verse) Ask for me when I'm on my deathbed and I will answer
Whatever you want from me, I'll give you
Ask for me when I'm on my deathbed and I will answer
Flirt with me, my love, flirt
I swear to God, I'm dying for you I practiced my ass shaking with this song. It's easy and a good start when you're not used to the faster paced arabic beats. I want this song to play at every birthday party I have. I want it to play at my wedding. This is a pretty romantic song that (hopefully) makes you want to shake it all around.
6.
Singer: MoroccanSong: KhaleejiSaad Lamjarred - LmallemTitle meaning: TeacherLyrics: (First verse) You are the teacher, and from you we learn
We are quiet when you are around, we refuse to speak (2x)
And whoever leaves you, doesn't understand!
One day will come that they will regret it
And don't listen to whoever tricks you
You are the teacherThis song has the catchiness of Daddy by Psy, and the lyrical intelligence of Stupid Hoe by Nicki Minaj. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I'm not gonna lie, I have some great drunk memories of it, so what the hell. Go off lol.
Bonus: 4 non-Arabic but Arabic-sounding/inspired songsBaby Brown - Oriental PoisonM.I.A. - Bad GirlsShakira - Eyes Like YoursAdele - Rolling in the Saudi DeepNote: I translated all of these so sorry that some sound so awkward lmao!
Note 2: If I got any of these song styles wrong please let me know and I'll change it!
