[BlindGossip] Last week we talked about a young couple that will be getting engaged in the near future. A few of the guesses pointed to this popular male heartthrob. While he was not the subject of those blinds, he is the subject of this one!
This heartthrob would like to be engaged to his famous girlfriend, whom he has been dating for over a year. And here’s some surprising news for you: he actually proposed to her a few months ago!
But… she said “No.” However, “No” doesn’t mean “Never.” She told him to ask her again in a few months. So they might still get engaged in 2013. But she is not ready to make a big commitment to marriage – or a baby – right now.

It’s Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez!
It started out as a PR arrangement. Which is fine… except for the fact that Justin wanted to make it permanent. Selena, on the other hand, is a little older and wiser. She saw the relationship as a job from the beginning.
As we told you in the blind, Justin asked Selena to marry him a few months ago. She said “No.” We knew that he would ask her again. In fact, he asked her again very recently. She said “No” again.
The couple broke up last week. This was very embarrassing for Justin (as he is the bigger star in the relationship), so both PR teams agreed on a “cause” and agreed to release the announcement on a Friday afternoon, when it would garner the least amount of attention. By the way, they have agreed to never, never, ever talk about the proposals! It would be far too damaging to his reputation if people found out that a smaller star turned down a bigger star!
They officially cited “scheduling difficulties” as the reason for the breakup, but Justin has not been a very convincing actor in making that explanation stick, and has been awkwardly stumbling around in interviews.
There have been various leaked reports that someone was cheating, someone was jealous, etc. These rumors are just attempts to deflect attention from the fact that Selena rejected Justin. The simple truth is that they are both way too young to get married, that it was just a business arrangement, that it’s time for them to move on, and that it’s good that at least one of them had the common sense to say “Enough.”
BTW, the two were genuine friends before they became a couple. Selena would like to go back to being friends, but Justin is pretty upset about the whole fiasco right now, and vacillates between wanting her back as a girlfriend… and wanting to punish her by being linked to other girls. Not exactly mature, but then, what would you expect from an 18-year-old?
