Philip Seymour Hoffman was nearly finished working on his role as Plutarch Heavensbee in the two The Hunger Games: Mockingjay films before his untimely and shocking death.
The 46-year-old actor had completed the majority of his work for Mockingjay Part 1 and only had seven days of filming left to go on Mockingjay Part 2 before his death, according to Deadline.
“Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation. We’re very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip’s family,” Lionsgate said in a statement.
