CHELSEA have landed one of the biggest signings of the season — One Direction’s Niall Horan.
The Irish heart-throb has been taken in by the Premier League giants to help him recover from a knee op.
He was smuggled into the club’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey, this week to be treated by their world class medical team.
It is believed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho — known as the Special One — agreed to give 20-year-old Niall the VIP treatment as his daughter is a massive fan of One Direction.
A source said last night: “Niall has been welcomed into the club as if he’s a Chelsea star himself.
“It’s the best possible place for him to get the rehab he needs on his knee because he needs to be fighting fit for the band’s stadium tour later this year.”
Mourinho, 50, became friendly with Niall after 1D were invited to the Real Madrid training ground when he was manager there last year. Niall said: “Mourinho’s daughter is a fan and he wanted to get tickets to the show so he invited us to train with the lads.”
The singer, who had surgery in the US to stop his knee dislocating, is a Chelsea fan and has watched them with Frank Lampard’s fiancée Christine Bleakley.
But Niall is not the only bandmate turning to football while the boys take some time off.
It emerged this week that Louis Tomlinson will make his debut for his local side Doncaster Rovers’ reserves in the next month after joining on a non-contract last year.
