what up yall
On January 25, 2007, British teen drama SKINS debuted and took the world by storm as both a critical and commercial success. The show ended this past August after a successful run, marked by cast transitions every two series. The first generation remains the most ICONIC and beloved of them all. SO YALL, on the 7th anniversary of the show's debut, let's take a look and see where they are now.
Nicholas Hoult (Tony Stonem)
The show's de facto lead, Tony was the smart, popular, and handsome guy in school who was also a total psycho. Since leaving Skins in 2008, he's starred in a bevy of films. A Single Man opposite Colin Firth and Julianne Moore in 2009, X-Men: First Class as Beast/Hank McCoy in 2011 (and is due to reprise his role in this year's X-Men: Days of Future Past), and was the lead in both Warm Bodies (fairly successful) and Jack the Giant Slayer (total fucking flop). In 2015, he's due to appear opposite Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in the Mad Max remake. His most famous role, however, is being ONTD's fave☆Jennifer Lawrence's☆ on-again off-again boyfriend since meeting on the set of XMFC in 2010.
April Pearson (Michelle Richardson)
April played Michelle Richardson, Tony's long-suffering girlfriend. April herself hasn't done much since Skins ended, but did star in a horror-comedy film called Tormented opposite Alex "Don't Lie, I Know Who You Are" Pettyfer and Skins castmate Larissa Wilson in 2009. She's acted in a couple episodes of British soap opera Casualty, and apparently has gone to a few film premieres this year (who knows why). She's pretty active on both Twitter and Instagram, and also was a beauty blogger for a little bit (her blog hasn't been updated for about two years now, though).
Mike Bailey (Sid Jenkins)
(if im gonna be real im not even 100% sure if that's him now)
Sid was Tony's nice guy, awkward virgin best friend. Mike Bailey totally fell off the grid after Skins ended but apparently talked shit about the show on Twitter and then deleted it after he was attacked by stans. He had some nudes leak in 2010-2011, and appeared in some Channel 4 documentary series in 2009. He emerged from wherever he's been hiding to take a role in comedy film We Are The Freaks, released in the UK in August 2013. FUN FACT: Sid's crazy dad was played by Peter Capaldi, the newest Doctor on Doctor Who.
Cassie was the eccentric, sweet friend who suffered from mental illness, including anorexia. She reprised her role as Cassie in the feature length episode Skins Pure in 2013. Hannah Murray's done really well for herself post-Skins: she acted in a critically acclaimed West End production titled The Face in 2008, several films between 2010-2011, and has been playing Gilly on Game of Thrones since 2012. She just premiered her new movie God Help The Girl at Sundance this past weekend, and is going to be seen in the upcoming movies Lily and Kat and No Way To Live.
Joe Dempsie played Chris, the party animal of the group. Demspie's been very successful post-Skins as well. He was in episodes of Merlin and Doctor Who in 2008, but really hit the jackpot when he was cast as Gendry in Game of Thrones in 2011 (he was recurring for season two, but as of season three is a regular cast member). He also starred in the acclaimed BBC Three drama The Fades (also starring his GoT costar Natalie Dormer) and was in a few eps of various BBC programs. He also got reallyfuckinghot.
Maxxie was the gay friend who was a killer dancer. Mitch Hewer got naked for Cosmo UK in 2008, and starred in Britannia High as Danny in 2009. The show (essentially a British version of Glee) only ran for one season. He has two movies coming out in 2014: Nightlight opposite Chloe Bridges from The Carrie Diaries and Behaving Badly (which is actually pretty star studded: starring Selena Gomez, Dylan McDermott, Elisabeth Shue, Heather Graham, Mary Louise Parker, Cary Elwes, Jenna from Awkward, etc). He's pretty active on Twitter as well.
Dev played Anwar, the Muslim friend who took a pretty selective approach to his faith. Dev's obviously played the lead in the Academy Award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire (fun fact: Danny Boyle chose Dev to play Jamal after his Skins-fan daughter recommended him). He was also in the flop (but it still broke even???) live action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He starred in the successful old people go abroad movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Nowadays, Dev can be seen in HBO's The Newsroom, and is filming a few movies this year. He's also been dating Slumdog costar/hottie Freida Pinto since 2009.
Kaya Scodelario (Effy Stonem)
Effy was Tony's wild/mute younger sister, who later became the central character of the second generation (series 3 and 4). Kaya was on Skins until 2010 (reprised her role in the feature length episode Skins Fire in 2013), and then went on to star in an adaptation of Wuthering Heights as Cathy in 2011 and starred in 2013's The Truth About Emanuel as the title character. She can next be seen in the upcoming adaptation of The Maze Runner with Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien.
Kenneth wasn't a main character but was a recurring friend of the group's. Daniel Kaluuya actually was writing for the show as well as acting in it (at age 17!). He wrote a couple eps for series three as well, but didn't act in them. He's been acting steadily since leaving the show, appearing in Doctor Who, Psychoville with Dawn French, Chatroom with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Johnny English 2, and was most recently in Kick Ass 2. He's really active on Twitter, too.

Joe Dempsie (Chris Miles)
Joe Dempsie played Chris, the party animal of the group. Demspie's been very successful post-Skins as well. He was in episodes of Merlin and Doctor Who in 2008, but really hit the jackpot when he was cast as Gendry in Game of Thrones in 2011 (he was recurring for season two, but as of season three is a regular cast member). He also starred in the acclaimed BBC Three drama The Fades (also starring his GoT costar Natalie Dormer) and was in a few eps of various BBC programs. He also got reallyfuckinghot.
Larissa Wilson (Jal Fazer)
Jal was the level-headed friend of the group (and is totally underrated tbqhhhh). Unfortunately tho, Larissa Wilson has all but disappeared. She played Iris in a TV movie about Shirley Bassey in 2011, was an extra in a TV series called Trollied in 2012, and was in two episodes of Holby City in 2008. She was in the horror movie Tormented with her castmate April Pearson in 2009.
Mitch Hewer (Maxxie Oliver)
Maxxie was the gay friend who was a killer dancer. Mitch Hewer got naked for Cosmo UK in 2008, and starred in Britannia High as Danny in 2009. Dev Patel (Anwar Kharral)

She can next be seen in the upcoming adaptation of The Maze Runner with Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien.
Aimee Ffion-Edwards (Sketch)
Sketch was the crazy girl who was obsessively in love with Maxxie (only in series two). Aimee Ffion-Edwards has been working pretty steadily since she left the show; she was in series two of Luther with Idris Elba and starred in Jerusalem, both on Broadway and in the West End. In 2012, she was on Sky series Walking and Talking for four episodes.
Daniel Kaluuya (Posh Kenneth)
Kenneth wasn't a main character but was a recurring friend of the group's. Daniel Kaluuya actually was writing for the show as well as acting in it (at age 17!). He wrote a couple eps for series three as well, but didn't act in them.
