A list of the world’s ‘hardest working acts’ by gigs played and miles covered has been compiled, with Kendrick Lamar coming out top in the hip hop genre and Local Natives proving the most prolific band in terms of shows.

The data was compiled by concert listings website Songkick, with LA-based band Local Natives being found to have played a staggering 188 shows, which works out as more than one every two days.

Lamar traveled the biggest distance meanwhile, the success of his Good Kid MAAD City album sending him on a worldwide tour that included dates in London and a US tour with Kanye West.

He was also the hardest working artist of the festival season, having performed for 2760 minutes across 46 festivals, amassing an estimated 870cm of artists’ wristbands.

The Mercury Music Prize-winning Alt-J led the Brits on the list, playing 164 gigs this year.

Imagine Dragons, Foals and Macklemore & Ryan also featured on the list, while surprise appearances in the top ten included nu-metallers Papa Roach and 80-year-old country star Willie Nelson.

*Technically Local Natives did the most shows but Kendrick is the top individual to do the most shows this year.
