With his upcoming film Out of the Furnace slated to hit theaters on December 6th, Christian Bale pitched in on promotions by covering the December 2013 issue of DETAILS magazine.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is rumored to be involved in the long-awaited feature adaptation of Neil Gaiman's acclaimed comic book series The Sandman.

According to Badass Digest, Warner Bros. is said to be interested in a Sandman pitch from writer David Goyer, with Gordon-Levitt to star, presumably as the lead character Morpheus.

Naturally, none of this is confirmed, and the site notes that this take on the project would be in the very, very early stages. Still, the idea of JGL in another comic book movie is an enticing thought.

Meanwhile, MTV caught up with Gaiman this week and asked him about the possibility of a Sandman movie. "What tended to happen a lot in the '90s was the point where Warner [Bros.] would get relatively close to making a Sandman movie, and then somebody would get realistic about the fact that the film would not be PG-13," he said. "It would be incredibly big and expensive, and it would never really be made or the sequence of films that you would need to make Sandman would never get made. I think things like the Dark Knight films kind of changed that, just how big and dark you could get."

Gaiman continued, "A Sandman movie is going to be too expensive for anyone to make a lousy movie at this point. But I also hope when they make a movie it won't be safe, whatever it is."

Meanwhile, The Mary Sue is reporting that Walking Dead star Norman Reedus is also rumored to star, though what role he would play is unknown.
