Lady Gaga just scored her second No. 1 album, "ARTPOP," which debuted atop this week's Billboard 200 chart. However, the pop superstar has taken to social media to express disappointment toward those who have met her latest achievements with an "overflow of hate."
"I put so much love into my music, into my shows, I make it all for you. I'll never understand the overflow of hate sent my way," Gaga posted on her Twitter and Facebook on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 20), hours after "ARTPOP" was crowned the No. 1 album in the country. "Or maybe thats what entertainment is now. It's more fun to point & laugh than appreciate the artist. I'll keep rehearsing my steps #showbiz"
While "ARTPOP" debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with 258,000 copies sold in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan, her previous full-length, "Born This Way," started with 1.1 million copies sold in its first week. That number was amplified by a temporary 99-cent sale deal by Amazon MP3 in 2011. "ARTPOP's" debut is the third-biggest debut sales week for a female artist this year, after Katy Perry's "PRISM" (286,000 copies sold) and Miley Cyrus'"Bangerz" (270,000 sold).
