One of the great moments at San Diego Comic-Con this year was the very end of the Marvel Studios panel when Kevin Feige surprised the audience by bringing out Joss Whedon. Whedon had something to show us, and the video was an exciting reveal of the title to his May 1, 2015 sequel to The Avengers. By now we know, of course, that it’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
What many of you who weren’t in the room don’t know is what the video looked like, at least not in high-res official form. The Iron Man 3 Jarvis App has now revealed that footage, which can be viewed online. We have it below, along with a plot synopsis that was uploaded to IMDB. It’s likely unofficial but interesting none the less.
First up, thanks to MoviePilot for the heads up on this video. According to their site, you can access it via the Jarvis iPhone App but I couldn’t get it to work. None the less, here’s the video.
What an exciting reveal that was.
Since that moment, fans have been discussing exactly how Ultron, who’ll be played by James Spader, would fit in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, we might (stress “might”) have an idea. A plot synopsis has been uploaded to the Internet Movie Database that’s slightly different from what we’ve heard. Disney tells us it’s not official, but that doesn’t mean there’s zero truth to it. Here it is.
As the US Government create a force, known as Ultron, The Avengers are told they are not needed any longer. But when Ultron turns against Humanity, it’s time for The Avengers to assemble yet again for their most dangerous challenge ever.
That, oddly, makes a bunch of sense. We know from various Marvel properties that humanity was frightened by the Battle of New York and the super heroes known as The Avengers. Maybe the government uses some of Tony Stark’s tech to create Ultron as a more suitable replacement, until that goes wrong. Again – totally hypothetical and Disney tells us it’s not official, but it could work.
Thoughts on the video and rumored plot synopsis?
