Per Deadline.com:
Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester has been tapped to lead indie drama Like Sunday, Like Rain, the story of a struggling musician (Meester) who becomes the guardian of a 12-year-old music prodigy one summer. This is Ray Donovan actor Frank Whaley‘s fourth outing as writer and director after helming pics Joe The King, The Jimmy Show, and New York City Serenade. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will play the boyfriend of Meester’s character in his first film acting role. Debra Messing has been cast as the mother of the boy, who’ll be played by newcomer Julian Shatkin. J Smith Cameron (Rectify, Margaret) rounds out the cast.
To celebrate its 40 years, Naf Naf asked the ex Gossip Girl to represent the brand. It feels right: her two loves are fashion and Paris!
Do you have a French obsession? Other than fashion, it’s the food. I love crêpes, Berthillon ice cream, croissants and the cheese.
When in Paris, where do you like to shop? At the Saint-Ouen flea market. The last time I was there I found a very pretty ring and a small antique box.
What is your favorite sentence in French? I studied french a long time ago, but the sentence I love the most comes from the street, “Je m’en foue!” (I don’t give a fuck).
What are your best and worst fashion memories? The best is the Met Ball, organized by Anna Wintour in New York, always so eccentric. The worst is a total orange look from when I was a teenager.
Are you afraid of the “fashion police”?“Non, je m’en fous!” [in french]. I don’t want to be a slave to fashion.
Your glam / not glam look? Glam: to pick clothes according to you, not according to other people. Not glam: clothes that are too tight. A look that follows the trend to closely. And, of course, the total orange look!
