Chances are, if you've ever read a David Sedaris essay or listened to him on NPR or bumped into him at a bookstore, you probably love him. There are few authors out there who can capture the human condition with such wit, humor, and offhanded eloquence. While his work has remained largely adaptation-free, that's all about to change with "C.O.G.," a movie based on an essay in "Naked" about his time cutting stones into rocks in the shape of Oregon.

Written and directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, the film premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival and stars "Glee"'s Jonathan Groff as Sedaris stand-in Samuel. He goes to work on a farm picking apples and falls in with an assortment of colorful characters who don't understand him, but help him understand himself.

The movie was warmly received at Sundance and features an ace supporting cast that includes Corey Stoll, Dale Dickey, Denis O'Hare, Dean Stockwell, Troian Bellisario, and Casey Wilson. Based on the trailer, "C.O.G." looks like it could be just the right kind of funny, heartwarming semi-biography.

"C.O.G." hits theaters and iTunes on September 20.

The trailer came out a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't see it posted here. I thought people would be interested because I know there are a lot of David Sedaris fans and there actors from a lot of ONTD faves ("True Blood,""Happy Endings,""Pretty Little Liars," and I guess "Glee") in the movie.
