The praise for “Scandal” is at an all-time high. Gladiators are eagerly awaiting the start of the third season of the hit show, which debuts in October. The lead actress, Kerry Washington was just nominated for an Emmy Award, becoming the first black actress to earn a nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Drama series in eighteen years. Fans of Olivia’s signature style have something to cheer about too: a clothing line inspired by the show may be in the works.
The wardrobe stylist responsible for Olivia’s winter white duds spoke with Fashionista.com about the possibility of a “Scandal” clothing line:
“We’ve been talking about how we could create something aspirational for the audience–like, something that Olivia Pope might wear–but not so aspirational that it was out of reach for most of our gladiators,” she said. “We’re just throwing around ideas with several different people, and getting a sense if we can do it and learning about the parameters. We’re trying to figure out how to do it so that it’s not too out of the price range that most people can afford, and yet somehow create something for people to have a piece of the Olivia Pope look.”
Can you imagine snagging Olivia Pope-inspired white trench coats and navy peplum blazers at an affordable price? If the “Scandal” clothing line does indeed come to fruition, I’m sure many gladiators will line up to shop it. Are you excited about the possibility of a “Scandal” clothing line?
