You better Belieb it!
On Tuesday, Justin Bieber became the first person to reach 40 million followers on Twitter -- and his follower count is still growing.
In fact, the Bieb's followership has practically exploded since he joined Twitter. In September 2009, the teen pop star had only 40 followers, according to Mashable.
Other top celeb tweeters, such as Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift, have plateaued around 30 million followers.
Bieber broke the record on the same day that he announced the title and artwork for his new single, Heartbreaker. He acknowledged the milestone by simply tweeting "#40millionstrong." An analysis of the hashtag's reach by social-media monitoring site Radian6 shows that nearly 100 million people have used it since Tuesday.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, Bieber has been retweeted more than 130,000 times, with many fans tweeting shout-outs to the "biggest family in the world."
