The Writers Guild of America -- both the West and East chapters -- evaluated talk shows, daytime dramas, primetime fixtures, cartoons, variety shows and more to come up with a definitive list of the 101 best-written shows of all time. Coming in at No. 2 on the list is "Seinfeld." The WGA said the list was determined through online voting by WGAW and WGAE members.
“At their core, all of these wonderful series began with the words of the writers who created them and were sustained by the writers who joined their staffs or worked on individual episodes,” WGAW President Chris Keyser and WGAE President Michael Winship said in a joint statement. “This list is not only a tribute to great TV, it is a dedication to all writers who devote their hearts and minds to advancing their craft."
The top spot went to HBO's The Sopranos. What? No room for Work It? Snubbed!
The list will likely include many of your favorite shows, and if it doesn't maybe you're watching the wrong programs. We have many opinions about the list (Friday Night Lights all the way down at number 22?), but we're more interested in what you guys have to say: Check out the list below and tell us what you think of The Sopranos getting the number one slot and if you think any TV series got brutally rebuffed.
