Over time, the cast of "Game Of Thrones" are slowly conquering Hollywood. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been seen in "Mama" and "Oblivion" so far this year, Richard Madden just won the male lead in "Cinderella," Emilia Clarke is teaming up with James Franco, and Kit Harrington has the lead in Paul W.S Anderson's "Pompeii," among just a few of the cast of the show who are going from Westeros to the big screen.

But after last night's episode, which as we said in our recap, had particularly memorable moments for Tyrion and Melisandre, it feels appropriate that this morning brings news that the actors who play them have just landed new movie roles. Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion, is currently filming his secret villain role in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," but after that, Screen Daily say he's lining up "Hop Frog," an adaptation of the story by Edgar Allan Poe. The film, to be directed by "Penelope" helmer Mark Palansky, will star Dinklage as a puppeteer who disguises himself as a jester in order to seek revenge on the knights who've kidnapped the woman he loves. It a little GoT-esque, and kind of awesome. Dinklage comments that the story is "beautiful and vicious. It has haunted me ever since I read Poe's original tale of revenge years ago. I can think of no other director than Mark Palansky to bring this new imagining of it vibrantly to life." We probably could have suggested a few, but fair enough.

Meanwhile, Dutch actress Carice Van Houten, who broke out in Paul Verhoeven's "Black Book" before taking the role of red priestess Melisandre in the HBO series, also has a new gig, with Screen Daily also reporting that she'll play legendary star Greta Garbo in a new Swedish-made biopic. To be shot in the English language, and following Garbo's path from shop assistant to silent star to retiring at the peak of her fame, the film's being written by Soni Jorgensen, and Van Houten will produce the project herself. There's no timeframe on either project yet, but with filming due to begin on the fourth series of the show in only a few months, we imagine they'll both have to wait for the next hiatus to get underway.
