Michelle Williams and Joel Edgerton are set to star in a remake of 2009 Italian film The Double Hour.
Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace) will write and direct the project, which is being financed and sold in Cannes by Silver Reel Entertainment and Lotus Entertainment.
UTA Independent Film Group and CAA are co-repping domestic rights for The Double Hour, which is a remake of director Giuseppe Capotondi’s film of the same name, which premiered in competition at the 2009 Venice International Film Festival.
Williams and Edgerton will star in the psychological thriller as a couple who find themselves victims of dangerous robbery.
The film was originally set up at Fox Searchlight, but is now going the independent route. Edgerton is currently in Cannes to celebrate the The Great Gatsby, which is opening the festival on Wednesday evening. The Australian actors plays Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's 3D film.
Indigo Films’ Nicola Giuliano, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Journeyman Pictures’ Paul Mezey are producing the film, and Silver Reel’s Claudia Blumhuber, Lotus Entertainment’s Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel, Giulio Marantonio, John Powers Middleton, Jacob Pechenik and Florian Dargel will executive produce.
Marston is repped by WME and Anonymous Content, Williams by CAA, Edgerton by CAA and Shanahan Mgmt., and producers Roy Lee and Nicola Giuliano by UTA.
