Courtney Stodden's mom defends momagers

Courtney Stodden's mom is jumping to every momager's defense.

After Fox News published a report slamming Hollywood's many momagers claiming family management is never in the best interest of the child, Courtney's mother, Krista Keller Stodden, has fired back, insisting it's the ideal scenario for any kid breaking into the biz.

"We take our jobs very seriously," Stodden exclusively tells E! News, explaining why momagers are better than your average manager. "We want our children to be the best they can be in their profession. We're the best type of managers because we're with our teenager 24/7."

She continued, explaining how outside management can be detrimental to a child star's development:

"When a client goes away from the momager, they are surrounded by people that may not be trusted. Look at Britney Spears—she had to go back to her dad to manager her. A lot of people go through a lot of managers in their career. Courtney knows she's in the best hands. I will always try to find the best fit for her," she says.

"As a momager, you have more of a burning passion for your child. You have more drive to get them where they want to go," she adds.

But that doesn't mean the working relationship is always easy, "My heart is in managing my daughter. I've sacrificed, I've relocated and I've left a marriage. All to be there for my daughter," she confesses before explaining how it's important to strike a balance.

"We have manager and client time and we have mother and daughter time. A good momager will find balance, but I'm a mother first."

As for Courtney's early beginnings?

Krista says her daughter came to her at "age 12" and decided she wanted break into the Hollywood biz. She immediately choose to support her child, insisting she "never forced her to do anything."

Mama Stodden also says she's had "tons of people" who want her to manage their children, but she won't be accepting any other offers, as she always has her daughter's best interest at heart.

"When we're with our children on set we are able to watch every move and strategize and make sure they're taken care of in all areas. You can say we're more protective, but in this business you have to be protective," she says.

"We've turned down hundreds of thousands of dollars, possibly millions, to do porn. I'll never encourage Courtney to do nudity just to earn a paycheck."

And finally, she applauds fellow momagers for their hard work, "I respect Kris Jenner. She does an incredible job. I respect Teri Shields. And even Dina Lohan for how hard she worked for Lindsay."
