He's a Los Angeles native, so he's more than used to the balmy temperatures and lack of rain in the city.

But it seems Leonardo DiCaprio isn't taking the LA sunshine for granted.

The 38-year-old actor was seen looking blissfully happy as he opened the window of his limo and soaked up the sunshine as he was driven along in Beverly Hills.

In heaven! Leonardo DiCaprio looked blissfully happy as he hung his head out of his limo window to bathe in the sunshine in Beverly Hills as he headed home from a meeting on Thursday

With a wide smile on his face, Leonardo closed his eyes as he was bathed in the warm sunlight, clearly keen to top up his tan in the process.

Getting the chance to spend some time appreciating his surroundings would have been a rare treat for the hard-working A-list actor after having spent most of the last 18 months shooting a trio of blockbuster movies.

DiCaprio announced he would be taking a 'long, long break' from acting in January, admitting he was completely 'worn out' after shooting three intense movies, Django Unchained, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street, back-to-back.

Topping up his tan: Leonardo couldn't have looked any more content as he enjoyed the trip

He told German newspaper Bild: 'I am a bit drained. I'm not going to take a long, long break. I've done three films in two years and I'm just worn out.'

The actor admitted he was looking forward to spending some time with his friends after missing out on Los Angeles life for a year-and-a-half.
DiCaprio explained: 'I take what I do very seriously when I'm on the set that's all I focus on. So my vice is to hang out with my friends, talk about absolutely nothing of importance and act like a complete idiot. It's like therapy to just be a complete idiot with my friends.

Time off: Earlier this week, the 38-year-old actor looked happy and relaxed as he enjoyed a refreshing drink in the sunshine

'I love to have friends over, but I haven't really been home for a year and a half so I don't even remember the last time I did that.

'I've just done three movies back-to-back, so I'm looking forward to getting back to my house.'

The Great Gatsby is due for release in the UK on 16th May.

He looks just like my grandma's dog, Big Time lmao
