Regine Chassagne, Win Butler, and baby make three!

Arcade Fire founders and front-people Win Butler and Régine Chassagne are the proud parents of a seven-pound baby boy. French-language paper Le Journal de Montréal reports that the singers' son entered the world on Sunday, April 21.
Their source was Barry Mack, friend of the family and pastor of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Saint-Lambert, Quebec.

Butler met Chassagne shortly after moving from New England in 2000 to attend Montreal's McGill University. The pair began playing together under the Arcade Fire banner in 2001, and were wed in 2003. The band's debut album, Funeral, was released in 2004. On the titular song of 2010's The Suburbs, Butler sung of his desire to have a child while an idyllic vision of the West still exists:

"So can you understand why I want a daughter while I'm still young / I wanna hold her hand, show her some beauty before all this damage is done / But if it's too much to ask, if it's too much to ask, then send me a son."

Hopefully he can crank out a song about how great sons are before the kid is old enough to scour daddy's lyric booklets. Revisit the video for "The Suburbs" below, and if you see anyone who looks like they speak French, be sure to shout, "Un bébé pour Arcade Fire!"
