Photographer Chris Kaufman took some of Jennifer Lawrence's earliest professional photos.
She always had 'it.'
Oscar winner and world-famous actress Jennifer Lawrence was just a cute teenager with a sweet smile when she stepped in front of Chris Kaufman’s camera a decade ago.
But the Louisville, Ky., photographer and talent agent instantly knew he had a future star in his studio.
“I stopped shooting and I turned to my assistant and said, ‘You don’t see people move like that,’ ” said Kaufman, who took some of the earliest professional shots of the all-American beauty who grew up to be J-Law, who at 22 is now Hollywood’s hottest young star.
“I was like, ‘Oh, my Lord, this girl is untrained?’ I remember feeling so much came out of her; it’s God-given,” said Kaufman.
"The Hunger Games” heroine and Academy Award winner for “Silver Linings Playbook” now can get any role she wants — but Lawrence never let her ambitions override her small-town values, Kaufman said.
“When she was 14 or 15, she went into one of the biggest agencies in the world and the receptionist was rude to her. If I remember right, she and her family walked out before the interview, and that tells you a lot,” Kaufman said.
