"Friday Night Lights" character Jason Street may have been tied to a wheelchair, but the man who portrayed him is now tied to something far more pretty. Actor Scott Porter married his longtime love, Kelsey Mayfield, on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Appropriately enough, the couple met in Texas while Porter, 33, was filming the fabled NBC drama and Mayfield was a cheerleader at the University of Texas at Austin. They were engaged in January 2012 following a four-year courtship.
"Today is the day," Porter, who now stars on The CW's "Hart of Dixie," tweeted. "There are no more tomorrows. And I could NOT be happier."
"Two families became one today," he added shortly thereafter, along with a photo of a sign directing guests on where to sit. "As today two families become one, we ask that you choose a seat, not a side. Love, Scott & Kelsey," it read.
Porter rocked a gray three-piece suit, while Mayfield looked stunning in a classic lace gown with cap sleeves. She carried a large bouquet of flowers in shades of pink and cream.
"We wanted to get married under a Texas sky, and it's going to be kind of a rustic chic wedding -- that's the term she throws around," Porter told Us Weekly in June 2012. "She's got the whole thing in her head and I trust her explicitly."
The reception included a candy bar with Wonka goodies and a sparkler-filled send-off.
