JESSICA ALBA!
Jessica Alba’s first book becomes NY Times best seller
Jessica Alba can now add the distinction of being a New York Times best-selling author to her impressive list of accomplishments as her first book, “The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You” has landed on the no. 8 spot on its list of best-selling paperback releases. It debuted at number 3!
Alba’s first foray into the literary world focused on her approach to healthy, green and eco-friendly living. In the book – which features plenty of adorable pictures of her daughters Honor and Haven, as well as husband Cash Warren – Alba gives fans insight as to how she’s created an “authentic, stylish and fun” life for her family; sharing advice on everything from nutritious eating to style, home décor, bringing up baby, entertaining and keeping clean, all with special attention paid to her experience running her environmentally friendly product line, “The Honest Company.”
“The Honest Life” – released on March 12 – faced some stiff competition in the home and lifestyle niche with the recent release of “It’s All Good,” from fellow Hollywood icon Gwyneth Paltrow. While celebrity moms – think Miranda Kerr, Soleil Moon Frye and Josie Maran – have each made a foray into eco-friendly lifestyle products, Alba has said that she felt her tips are more approachable to readers that Paltrow’s.
“Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn’t grow up with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: Repurposing things and making things at home,” Alba said in a recent interview to the New York Daily News. “You can take what you want from the book.”
And it looks like Alba may have been right about the appeal of her cost-conscious approach, as Paltrow’s book has yet to make the New York Times list of best-selling books.
