Hulk Hogan Responds To Recent CM Punk Promo

Fighting Spirit Magazine has a six-page interview with Hulk Hogan in their latest issue. During the interview, Hogan had some choice words for CM Punk and his recent promo about stars of yesteryear having it easier than him.

"CM Punk never had to walk into a dressing room where he wasn't supposed to be. He never walked into Kansas City, where Harley Race was the champion for 20 years, where Harley had told all of his friends and neighbors that he was the only heavyweight champion, because he was the NWA champion," Hogan said. "CM Punk never walked into Kemper Arena and had Harley Race put a gun to his head and say, 'Get out of my town, kid'.

"So, does CM Punk have it easier than me? When I was flying 300 days a year, doing double-shots, and there was no Rock and no 'Stone Cold' around, but just me for the first 15 years? During the day, I was flying from New York and stopping in St. Louis, taking a TV station manager out to lunch, and then in the afternoon getting to the building early in another town, like Chicago, and cutting a TV deal before wrestling that night. So, no, I don't think I had it easier than him."

The six-page interview with Hulk Hogan is in Issue 90 of FSM, available now from WH Smiths and Easons in the UK and Ireland, and for iPhone/iPad and Android via FightingSpiritMagazine.co.uk.

WWE vs. Glenn Beck: Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter take 'stupid political commentator' to the mat

Conservative media personality Glenn Beck looks to be in a sticky situation with an army of wrestlers on his back. After Beck ranted on air about a World Wrestling Entertainment character, "Zeb Colter" and his pal "Jack Swagger," the WWE crew is fighting back.

Beck, who seems to be unaware Colter and Swagger are characters portrayed by actors  -- Wayne Keown and Jake Hager, respectively -- called Colter ""a villain who just happens to be a racist Tea Partier." Now Keown and Hager posted a video to YouTube to call Beck out on the mat.

In the video, the guys reenact a promo, then drop the green screen projection and affected voices to explain to Beck how TV fiction works. "We aren't in the political business, or the immigration business. We are in the entertainment business.

Everything we do as our characters is to tell stories," says Keown. He continues to politely explain, "Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger are using the current, relevant topic of immigration to target the WWE World Champion, Alberto Del Rio -- also a character played by my friend Jose Rodriguez," Keown says, "In our story, we are the antagonists and Alberto is the protagonist."

Keown then takes issue with Beck's claim the two are "stupid wrestling people." He says, "By implication, you are referring to the 14 million 'stupid' wrestling fans who are watching our shows every week." Keown goes on to point out that WWE fans represent a global audience encompassing 145 countries.

Next, he delivers a leg sweep to Beck by pointing out the demographics of said audience: 20% Hispanic, 22% African-American, and 35% female. He proceeds to explain to Beck how the business of television works, and details the massive popularity of the 20-years-running "Monday Night Raw" program.

"We have about 60 characters on our show," says Keown. "A lot more than, say, 'NCIS' or 'Glee.' But we're not that much different. Some of our characters are really likable and some are detestable -- good guys and bad guys."

Then comes the takedown. "Many of your followers are WWE fans, and they understand the difference between reality and entertainment," says Keown. "Are you out of touch with your audience, Glenn? Or are you just a 'stupid' political commentator?" Keown finally invites Beck to deliver a five-minute live rebuttal Monday night in front of a sold-out audience of 12,000 "'stupid' wrestling fans." Does anyone think Glenn will get in the ring with these two?

Speculation On WWE's RAW Response To Glenn Beck, Tim White Working For WWE Again, Swagger

Former WWE referee Tim White is apparently working some kind of ambassador job with WWE now. He was one of many who accompanied Sheamus to an autograph signing in Kentucky this weekend. White told several fans that he loved helping WWE out and did not miss the job of being a referee. White was released from WWE back in 2009.

- Jack Swagger was the most searched topic on Yahoo for a brief time last night.

- One WWE source noted to The Wrestling Observer that they wouldn't be surprised if the whole Glenn Beck situation is what is saving Jack Swagger and his WrestleMania storyline following Tuesday night's arrest. WWE will likely go hard on the angle this Monday night. The source speculated that we may get a 2013 version of Vince McMahon challenging Eric Bischoff to a fight on RAW.

Backstage Talk On Steve Austin Wrestling Again, Update On Jack Swagger's Situation, Kaitlyn

WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn revealed on Twitter that she will be at tonight's NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University. As noted earlier, Randy Orton will also be there. Kaitlyn tweeted:

"#NXT tonight @FullSail Orlando! Ill be there Champ'n it up. Who wants a piece of this??? (NXT divas only)"

- No confirmed word yet on what kind of actions, if any, WWE will take against Jack Swagger after his arrest on Tuesday night. The only thing we've heard is that they were considering "booking changes" which can't be good for Swagger.

- People close to Steve Austin believe that he will never wrestle again. If Austin is going to try for one more match, it will likely be at WrestleMania XXX in 2014 when he is 49 years old.
