Jessica Chastain confirmed as 'Miss Julie' star
Liv Ullmann helms Stringberg adaptation with Colin Farrell co-starring

Liv Ullmann is returning to the director's chair with Jessica Chastain as her leading lady.
Ullmann will helm an adaptation of classic Swedish battle-of-the-sexes play "Miss Julie" which will star Chastain and Colin Farrell. Samantha Morton is also on board to co-star in the adaptation of the August Strindberg play. Among the film adaptations was Mike Figgis' 1999 version starring Saffron Burrows.
The original story took place in 1874 at the estate of the Count of Sweden, and follows a woman trying to escape an existence cramped by social mores who is suddenly drawn to a senior servant.
Oliver Dungey and Teun Hilte are producing.The role would mark the first project for the CAA and Mosaic repped-Chastain since her Oscar nom and Golden Globe for Sony's "Zero Dark Thirty."
Besides "Zero Dark Thirty," Chastain can also be seen in Universal's "Mama," which has made $50 million at the domestic B.O. She is currently starring in the Broadway play "The Heiress."
The CAA-repped Farrell already has a busy 2013 ahead of him with roles in FilmDistrict's "Dead Man Down," Warner Bros. "A Winter's Tale" and Disney's "Saving Mr. Banks."
As for Ullmann, the last film the multi-hyphenate helmed was 2000's Swedish pic "Faithless." More recently, she directed Cate Blanchett and Joel Edgerton onstage in "A Streetcar Named Desire" in 2009. The Principato-Young repped Morton was last seen in David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis.
