The film, long a passion project for our tiny Canadian, stars Julianne Moore and Page as Laurel Hester and Stacie Andree, a cop and her partner who struggle to have Hester's pension benefits passed to Andree after Hester is diagnosed with cancer.

And, last but not least, Freeheld will be coming to Blu-Ray this winter. The movie received praise from gay activists, fans, and the LGBTQ community, but it was given mixed reviews and never did achieve commercial success.
