Brandon Flowers on his own style, "style is a huge part of a musician's image. When I think of Morrissey, I think of his pompadour. When I think of Mick Jagger, I think of scarves. Roy Orbison had his Ray-Bans. As for me, I guess time will tell what my trademark will be."
-Hates walking the red carpet.
-Fashion advice to others, "Just because it looks good on Mick Jagger doesn't mean it's going to look good on you."
-His style icons are Marlon Brando and Paul Newman and adds that "you can't improve on the classics."
In celebration of Brandon being one of nine featured artists, the Hollywood Reporter compiled 10 of his top looks over the last ten years. Below are 5 of those 10 (in no particular order) - see the full list at the source!
2005 Live 8 Concert In London
Let's take it back to a young BFlow with guyliner! Decked in all white, the front man was in full Hot Fuss promo mode - dissing people left and right in interviews (and we loved every second of it) not giving a single fuck. Those were the days!
2009 BRIT Awards
Who could forget Brandon's ICONIC feathered jacket? Fans either loved it or hated it - but you can't deny this look stood out and screams Day & Age era. During this time, BFlow joined the stage with Pet Shop Boys and former pop-star, now Jazz singer Lady Gaga for a stellar performance at the 2009 Brit Awards! Slaaaay!
2012 Firefly Music Festival
The Battle Born era consisted of a lot of leather jackets, dark clothing and some of Brandon's best vocal performances. Since kicking the bad habit of smoking and drinking and more vocal training, Flowers improved not just performance wise but vocally. King!
2010 'Later With Jools Holland' Performance
The Flamingo era was a special but nerveracking time for Flowers. After Day & Age, the band decided to go on hiatus but Brandon decided to keep on going! Releasing his first solo album in 2010, we were blessed with "Flamingo" and an era that would give us the blessing that is "Only The Young" and so many more fan favorites! This era had Flowers in a lot of plaid, vests and he was completely serving us Amish chic but with a modern twist!
2015 Tribeca Film Festival
The Desired Effect era is heavy in 80's influences more so in the music than Flowers' actual style. It's been a bit of a mix of everything he has done up until now. From casual to dapper - Brandon is giving no fucks and doing what he pleases.
...and finally - Brandon Flowers, along with Jim Murren of MGM Resorts International and US Senator Harry Reid, introduced President Obama at the National Clean Energy Summit (NCES) at the Mandalay Bay Resort Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Below is a short performance he did of "Home Means Nevada" (of course he did).
Thank you for your time!
