Kelly can piss on her." This joke has received some backlash. With some, such as writer and editor Jamilah Lemieux saying that rather than take R. Kelly to task, the joke punches down at his victims and makes light of his crimes.
Julie Klausner recently told Entertainment Weekly that Poehler had been incredibly hands-on with the project, saying that she gave notes on "every script..every draft of every outline." Klausner goes on to say that Poehler "would be involved in every stage of the process in a way that she would go above and beyond.”
