Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries is proving to be an even bigger fiasco than the couple’s fleeting 72-day marriage.
With Kris claiming fraud and Kim showing no signs of backing down, the former lovebirds won’t even begin a divorce trial until February 2013. But when that day finally arrives, the two will have plenty to discuss.
The ex-couple’s latest spat is allegedly over Kim’s $2 million, 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring, which Kris believes she should return.
“Kris is adamant that he wants the ring back and it's becoming a real sticking point between his and Kim's attorneys,” one source told Radar Online. “She has made it plain that she has no intention of returning it though and feels she is within her legal right to refuse as she went through with the wedding. However, Kris contends that the marriage was a total sham and that Kim only wed him for publicity so therefore she has no right to keep such an expensive gift.”
We have to admit, it’s a bit curious that Kim insists on hanging onto the rock — especially considering she has a new man in her life to shower her with expensive and elaborate gifts.
"Kris doesn't understand why Kim would even want to keep the ring anyway,” the source continued. “It obviously has no sentimental value as she has publicly declared their wedding as 'a huge mistake' and she certainly doesn't need the money, so why doesn't she just return it to him?"
