In lieu of a new episode tomorrow, Days will be airing a very special flashback episode from June 24, 1997: Susan Banks' (EJ DiMera's mummy) Elvis-inspired wedding, the one where her false teeth fly out of her mouth and land in a wine glass. She's finally exposed as impersonating Kristen DiMera. This is also the one with the 'secret room.' Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson) was recently reintroduced to the soap after departing 14 years ago. Aside from Wilson (Will and Sonny's gay love affair), Eileen Davidson has single-handily saved the show. This past Monday, after a month of trying to convince everyone that she's a new woman (John and Brady now believe her), the 'real' Kristen DiMera returned when she got Marlena alone in a hospital room with no witnesses (below).

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 16, 2012 - NBC will broadcast one of the most scandalous, memorable and joyous episodes from the classic archives of its daytime drama "Days of our Lives," on Friday, November 23. On the heels of Eileen Davidson's return as longtime fan favorite Kristen DiMera, this episode takes viewers back to one of the villainess' most memorable "Days" episodes to date.

The episode -- originally telecast on June 24, 1997 -- involves John's (Drake Hogestyn) wedding to a Kristen impostor. Meanwhile, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and the real Kristen (Eileen Davidson) are still unconscious in a secret room where evil mastermind Stefano (Joe Mascolo) is holding them captive. Elsewhere, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) tries to adjust to the idea that Bo (Peter Reckell) and Billie (Krista Allen) are married while Bo's life is threatened after his cover is blown during an investigation gone wrong.

"This admired series has continued to keep a loyal and dedicated audience since 1965, and to be able to share this memorable episode with devoted fans of the show, as well as new viewers, will definitely be a fun treat," said Bruce Evans, Senior Vice President, Current Programming, NBC Entertainment.

"Days of our Lives" (Monday-Friday, 1-2 p.m. ET in most markets) first premiered as a half-hour drama in 1965 and expanded to an hour 10 years later. Today, it remains a consistent favorite among viewers of daytime television serials and continues to lead the competition among younger female viewers.

About "Days of our Lives":

"Days of our Lives" is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is executive producer and Greg Meng is co-executive producer along with Lisa De Cazotte as producer. Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell are the head writers.
