One of the most talented dancers of the her generation is calling it a day. French dancer Sylvie Guillem, on many,many best dancer lists, has announced she will officially retire with a final programme at Sadlers Wells next May 26-31, including new works by Akram Khan and Russell Maliphant, and existing pieces by Mats Ek and William Forsythe.
She will travel internationally on a farewell tour post the Sadlers Wells engagement.
She is leaving with a spring in her step; "“I have loved every moment of the last 39 years, and today, I am still loving it in the same way. So why stop? Very simply, because I want to end while I am still happy doing what I do with pride and passion".
Giullem began training at the Paris Ballet in 1977, and was promoted by Nureyev to rank of "Etoile" at the age of 19. She has performed the leading roles in classical repertoire for the Royal Ballet, The American Ballet Theatre, Tokyo Ballet, Mariinsky and La Scala. She has pursued a successful second career in modern dance since 2004.

51-year-old Beasts of the Southern Wild actor Dwight Henry was arrested on November 20 after allegedly stealing $270 in cash from, and threatening the staff of, a New Orleans bakery where he used to work. He was released on his own recognizance, but prosecutors are now deciding whether or not to charge him anew in his connection with a 2006 killing, for which he was arrested but never charged.

Henry, who played Hushpuppy's father Wink in BotSW and also appeared in 12 Years a Slave, is set to appear in the upcoming Marvin Gaye biopic Sexual Healing.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' director James Gunn is as worried as you are about the influx and boom of the movie universes and franchises.

He took a lowkey jab at DC/WB when he voiced his doubts on Facebook about “studios trying to grow franchises from non-existent films or middling successes.”

“Listen, I love big (a–) shared universes in movies, as well as huge franchises, but I’m a little worried about the numerous shared universes being planned by the studios, without having a strong base film to grow from — or in some cases, NO base film to grow from.” he wrote in a Facebook post.

“But these days studios are trying to grow trees without a strong seed. Execs and producers and sometimes even directors are focused on the big picture, without perfecting the task directly in front of them — making a great movie. [...] In short, I think this new business model is flawed. I think filmmakers and studios should be prepared for the big picture, but never, ever let it get in the way of making a single great film. Be a little more experimental and see what works as opposed to trying to force success.”

Switzerland won the Davis Cup for the first time after flawless Roger defeated perennial flop Richard Gasquet 6-4 6-4 6-2 in the fourth match of the series against France. Tsonga didn't play because he got injured last friday.

Nicole whatshername's former boyfriend Lewis Hamilton won the last race of the F1 Season @ Abu Dhabi and became the new F1 champion. Nico Rosberg's car had a lot of technical problems (i c u Anthony Lewis sabottaging it) and the race was quite boring (like almost every race this season). Prince Harry and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell were there to celebrate because... idk, they're also British? Had no idea they were fans. Harry looked rough as always.

Another day, another sad news about the Cosby scandal. Joyce Emmons was a former club manager from Brooklyn, and released a claim about how the comedian drugged her. She hung out closely with him and his circle in the late 1970s, back when she was running comedy clubs. She spoke to a banned source that is definitely not TMZ that the comedian gave her a "white little pill" when she complained about migraine. This all happened in Cosby's Las Vegas suite, and Emmons claimed that she blacked out, and woke up naked in bed with one of Cosby's friends who tried to hit on her the previous night.

She confronted Cosby and asked him what the drug is, and he replied that it is "just a Quaalude", which is a little strong but could relieve her migraine. She also claimed that Cosby always had a "drawer full of drugs", including Quaaludes. Women would always go near Cosby and his friends, and most of them took drugs knowingly and voluntarily.

On whether or not Dandy is evil: Look, I have to be on his side completely to do the character justice. Of course, I can take a step back and objectively say he is evil or creepy and psychotic. But to even have a chance of pulling him off, I can't ever be judging him. People say you are so creepy and scary, and honestly I am not trying to be any of those adjectives. The actions themselves are scary and creepy, but I am not trying to play creepy.

With any character, you try to find the connective tissue between you and them and find what is collectively human about them. We all have a monster inside us. Dandy isn't that far from a needy infant. If you imagine an infant brain that never developed farther than needing a world that answers to all your little wants and needs, then you basically have Dandy. Emotionally he is an infant, but mentally he is very, very intelligent. Put that together with a big bank account and a need for destruction, and you have a very dangerous combination.

On how the Twisty mask smells: It smells like weird plastic synthetic mask material they used to make it mostly. I wouldn't describe it as pleasant. I did share a mask. They made it special for Twisty. There weren't many duplicates because that outfit was intense and pretty expensive. So, yes, I breathed in John Carroll Lynch's breath and cooties.

On how he feels about clowns: I don't see what the big deal is. Why are people so scared? They're fun. They juggle, they have big funny noses, they only kill people occasionally. But no one is perfect.
