The internet was all abuzz just before the Golden Globes began tonight after people claimed they heard 'This Is Us' actress Chrissy Metz call 'GLOW" actress Alison Brie a "bitch' on Facebook Live, unaware that her microphone was still live following her red carpet interview. Metz and Brie have seemed friendly in the past, posing together on previous red carpets.
The audio on the video is actually unclear - some people heard "bitch", others heard "babe" and still others couldn't make out anything at all. The incident occured as Metz finished her interview and co-host AJ Gibson threw to his colleague at the other end of the carpet, who was about to interview Brie.
AJ Gibson says “I was standing on stage with Chrissy and thought she called Alison a babe. Chrissy is one of the kindest women in Hollywood and is so supportive of other talented women. If she did happen to use the ‘other’ word, I promise it was 1,000 percent a joke.”
Vanity Fair reporter Nicole Sperling took it upon herself to tell Brie during the ceremony that Metz had been caught on tape calling her a bitch, and Brie seemed hurt and bewildered by it, saying "But why? I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked."
As for Metz, she tweeted:
It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated! I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart. https://t.co/IdeN2x2j9q
