Produced by Kerry Washington, the pilot is set to star Alyson Hannigan. The pilot focuses on two recently divorced sisters who move in together so they can raise their kids. Aly will portray a social worker named Jessie who moves her son (a football player) and daughter into her narcissistic sister's house. Her sister, Charli also has a daughter, who is described as wicked.

Love, Simon is getting positive reviews

“Love, Simon” - an American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Greg Berlanti and based on the novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli has started getting reviews and so far...they're positive. The LBGT film stars Nick Robinson (Melissa & Joey), Josh Duhamel, and Jennifer Garner and opens this month on March 16th 2018.


Variety: “At a cultural moment when it matters so much for audiences to see themselves represented on screen, "Love, Simon" broadens the spectrum to include those who are questioning their sexuality.”

The Guardian: “Love, Simon won't be short of critics (and many of them will be adamant that its story is either unimportant or, gasp, amoral) but within its sleek studio skeleton, there's genuine heart.” Rating: 4/5

The Hollywood Reporter: “It's an expertly carved chunk of cheese. But taken on its own, limited terms, Love, Simon is also a charmer - warm, often funny and gently touching, tickling rather than pummeling your tear ducts.”

Slant: “Greg Berlanti's charmingly heartfelt film is a remarkably successful attempt to give shape to the experience of the closet by drawing an incredibly intimate portrait of a teenage boy about to leave it behind.” Rating: 3/4



FleshFiction: “Not only would this make John Hughes stand up and cheer, its honesty and tenderness are destined to leave a lasting legacy.” -A

IndieWire: “Love, Simon deserves celebration as a groundbreaking achievement from a major studio. Berlanti’s gay Midas touch has ushered in countless LGBT characters to television, and his film venture is no less significant. The cast is notably diverse. It’s too bad that the movie isn’t as vibrant, funny, and entertaining as the community it wishes to represent — but it’s a start.” B-

Refinery29: “But Love, Simon's greatest triumph is that it manages to highlight the small ways in which even the most accepting and open-minded among us can make coming out difficult, even in 2018. It's in the small, almost absent-minded put-downs, like when Jack (Duhamel), the same man who sweetly — if ineffectively — wants to commemorate his love for his wife with a romantic slideshow, casually calls the Bachelor's behavior "clearly gay." It's a happy coincidence that the film will be released in theaters only weeks after the reboot of Queer Eye hit Netflix to wide acclaim. That show also features a man hesitating about how to come out to his stepmom, worried that to do so would change their relationship. It's easy to assume that these issues are a thing of the past, especially in more liberal circles, and a difficult balancing act to nail: dramatize things too much, and you risk de-normalizing gay teenagers; make things too easy, and you minimize the significance of coming out. Love, Simon toes the line, and the end result is well worth watching.”

How John Boyega Went from Star Wars to Sci-Fi Producer + Press Tour for Pacific Rim: Uprising

– The New York Times interviewed John, touching up his early work like Attack the Block, all the way through Detroit, theater stuff, Star Wars and Pacific Rim.
– John described himself as part of a new wave of actors from Britain, many of whom are black, looking to shake up the film and TV industry in the US.
– When asked if he thought Harrison was passing the torch of Han to him, John did an impersonation:“I don’t know that I thought of it that way at all, I was there to die. And I didn’t really give a rat’s ass who got my sword.”
– John also appeared in a few videos interviews below in Austalia, with Uprising being one of the most expensive movies ever filmed there. Scott Eastwood and other actors are also doing overseas promo.
– The Art and Making of Pacific Rim Uprising will be released on March 20th.
– A clip featuring Cailee Spaeny as new lead Amara has been released ft. Jaegar action.
– Release date is March 23rd.

Fans of 2017’s “Wonder Woman” and current monster hit “Black Panther” engaged in an debate on Twitter:
who would win in a fight between Wonder Woman and Okoye ?

Okoye is an incredible soldier backed by an army of equally badass women.  Wonder Woman is a literal immortal demigod.

The consensus was pretty much that  Wonder Woman would mop the floor with Okoye. 

Roxane Gay, the writer behind Marvel Comics’ “Black Panther” spinoff “World of Wakanda” settled the debate once and for all.

Amandla Stenberg was one of the actresses in the running to play Shuri, but she decided not to pursue the role of T'Challa's tech-obsessed sister.

"I was in the audition process for it, then I decided to not continue with the process because I thought that it wouldn't be right for me as a biracial, light-skinned American to be playing [the role]. I don't think visually it [would've] make sense and it wasn't appropriate for me to go after that role. Black Panther is one of the only films that we have that has darker-skinned representation. That's what was so beautiful about it."

Disneyland workers are food insecure, Disneyland Paris is getting a €2bn update + misc park updates

· Surveyors spoke with 5,000 employees from 9 separate unions. One in ten reported homelessness within the past 2 years, and almost 3 quarters say they don't make enough to cover monthly expenses
· Disneyland spokesperson Suzi Brown says Disney takes pride in their employees and questioned the methodology and motivations in the survey, saying it's inaccurate & unscientific
· Occidental professor Peter Dreier says Disney is attacking their survey in an effort to deflect from employees' issues
· Salary for full-time hourly staff is $37k. Despite costs rising within the parks, the hourly wage dropped 15% from 2000 to 2017 ($15.80 to $13.36). Minimum wage in CA is $11 for companies with more than 26 employees and is set to increase annually until 2023 when it reaches $15 (still not a living wage in CA)






· On Tuesday morning at the Palais de l’Elysée alongside President Emmanuel Macron, Disney Chairman & CEO Bob Iger announced plans for a €2bn, multi-year expansion of Disneyland Paris park
· The plans include Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars-themed areas, as well as a new lake. The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be Iron Man-themed




· Animal Kingdom's new bird show will start April 22nd and features live free-flying birds



· Disney welcomed a baby Nile hippo last month, their first in 13 years. It's a baby boy named Augustus. He weighs 168lb and likes spending time with his mommy



· The festival started today (Feb 28) and runs until May 28th



· Bob Iger says Disney plans to increase pricing on certain days at the end of this year to even out crowds


· Hollywood Studios' new Toy Story-themed rollercoaster for kids
