White lesbian movie roundup time!
1. BecksAfter a bad breakup, a singer-songwriter moves back in with her mom and develops a connection~ with a married woman. Stars Lena Hall, Mena Suvari, and Hayley Kiyoko.
Released Feb 9, so go see it while you can bc lbr it's not gonna play much longer.
lolbye's review based on the trailer: "Kiyoko stans, she's not the main character, don't bother. If she were, the movie would be about her being cheated on by her flop ugly gf, realizing her worth, becoming famous and dating her way through hollywood starlets. As it is, it's about a plain looking white lesbian getting left by her much hotter gf and becoming a homewrecker with another flop ugly white girl. Lesbians have to deal with a lot of bad movies, but this lesbian (who even loves Below Her Mouth) is probably going to skip... I'm not watching this trash!" (
OP: Kiyoko stans don't play omw.)
2. DisobedienceWe had an ONTD post about this one already but I'm reposting the trailer because it stars the two Rachels and fuckkkkkkk me they're hot. "What's up with the wig??" - yeah, yeah, I know, but it's realistic & religious so please shut up and watch the trailer for the millionth time on a loop like I have.
3. LizzieThis biographical thriller is about Lizzie Borden, so you know it's going to be pretty gay. Lizzie, played by Chloe Sevigny, strikes up a relationship with her live-in family maid, Bridget Sullivan (Kristen Stewart). From the source: "Kristen Stewart is breathtaking in every movie she's in
(um), and her portrayal of Bridget marks the actress's first explicitly queer role."
Lizzie is expected to be released this summer.
4. My Days of MercyLucy (Ellen Page) and Mercy (Kate Mara) have differing views on the death penalty, but that doesn't stop them from sharing an "undeniable attraction" or something.
5. Tell it to the BeesThis romantic drama is set in the 1950s and is about the relationship between a doctor (Anna Paquin) and the mother of one of her patients (Holliday Grainger). I haven't read the Fiona Shaw novel the movie is adapted from, but the source says the book "has been regarded as uplifting and liberating" so yay happy ending?
