'Wonder Years' Mom Says Show Was Canceled Because of "Ridiculous" Sexual Harassment Suit

$

Alley Mills, who played the mother on The Wonder Years, blames the show's cancellation after five seasons in 1993 on what she calls a "ridiculous" sexual harassment lawsuit brought by a former costume designer and dresser on the show against the actors who played her two sons, Jason Hervey and Fred Savage, who were aged 20 and 16 at the time.

Monique Long alleged that she was fired from the show for complaining to superiors about Hervey and Savage's sexual remarks about her and requests for an affair with her.

"When we shot the series finale…nobody knew whether or not 'The Wonder Years' was going to be renewed. And that's because of a completely ridiculous sexual harassment suit that was going on against Fred Savage — who is like, the least offensive, most wonderful, sweet human being that ever walked the face of the Earth."

"You know, they bought her off, which made me really mad. That was incorrigible that the network did that; they should never have paid her off. They wanted to avoid a scandal or something, but it made them look guilty. You know, you don't pay someone off when there was no crime, you just fire the girl," Mills says. She compares it to today's #MeToo movement: "It's a little bit like what's happening now — some innocent people can get caught up in this stuff; it's very tricky. It was so not true."

Asked about the lawsuit back in 1996, Savage said "I was completely exonerated. I really don't want to talk about it. It was a terrible experience."

A third man has come forward to accuse gay porn star Topher DiMaggio of violent rape

  • In the wake of previously published allegations by gay porn star Tegan Zayne and an anonymous individual not involved in the adult entertainment industry, a third man has come forward to accuse model Topher DiMaggio of "violent" rape

  • The man, who was identified by the pseudonym "Bryan" in an exclusive interview with blog Str8UpGayPorn, claims that in the summer of 2016 he met DiMaggio at a Sacramento nightclub, where he displayed "the same belittling attitude that [Zayne] described," and attempted to force Bryan into performing oral sex on the dancefloor

  • DiMaggio returned with Bryan to one of the latter's friends' houses, where he proceeded to follow Bryan into the bathroom and violently force himself inside of him, despite Bryan asking him multiple times to stop: "He just kept saying, 'It's fine, it's fine, it's fine.' And then he pulled my pants down all the way."

  • After 10-15 minutes, DiMaggio stopped and told Bryan that he had ejaculated inside him twice; at this point, Bryan left the house, and cried himself to sleep in his car

  • The next morning, Bryan saw that DiMaggio had busted his lip when he slammed him into the bathroom wall

Why Are Marvel's Films Outperforming DC's? Science Butts In!

    • A study conducted by ZappiStore utilized an advanced facial recognition platform (Affectiva) to measure the emotions and responses coming from people viewing Marvel and DC movie trailers.

    • The characters and humor seen in Marvel trailers is what won favorable results from viewers

    • Subjects respond with more approval towards Marvel in terms of brand association and how they seem to fall more in line with the source material than DC does.

    • Generally, fans seem to prefer substance over style, which is something Zack Snyder lacks.

Although there are complaints towards Marvel's inability to hold tension in a scene by using humor to break it, the humor in question was still what resonated with general audiences. Especially when compared to the brooding tone of DC's films.

"We were surprised to see, across all trailers tested, that the emotional response was lower than expected for set pieces and special effects, particularly in the genre we were looking at. The results indicate the way DC can reboot and change characters across trilogies or between TV to film might be having a detrimental effect on how well the public connects with those characters."— Ernie Collings of ZappiStore

Sports Writer Who Covered Tonya Harding Says "I, Nauseated" Over "I, Tonya"

Julie Vader, The Oregonian's ex-sports columnist who extensively covered the Nancy Kerrigan assault and Tonya Harding in general, has written an op-ed in response to the critical accolades, revisionism and hero's welcome I, Tonya and Tonya Harding have received. In a nutshell, she's grossed out.

She's a good writer, I recommend reading the whole thing.

    • Vader says while the film gets right Harding's rough, abusive upbringing (her mother has denied beating her, of course), it veers into total fantasy when entering the skating world and the actual attack. For example, Tonya confronting snotty judges as portrayed in the film never happened.

    • The original plan was to kill Tonya's skating rival Nancy, then to sever her Achilles tendon, before settling on breaking her landing leg. Tonya was very much in on the plan and was in fact upset when Nancy wasn't immediately disabled. Nancy is also treated as comic relief in her brief appearances.

    • The film puts all the blame of the attack on Tonya's bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt, who is conveniently dead in real life.

    • Tonya's tearful speech at her sentencing never happened. She was cut a deal and was later banned from skating when the extent of her role in the attack was exposed. No "name" skaters would be caught dead appearing with her because of her crime.

    • The film has to be Tonya's dream come true, with Hollywood fawning over her and the film pushing her lies. In reality, Tonya is "habitually truth-challenged," whose story has changed repeatedly over the years. What has remained consistent is she is the victim.

    • Vader "great gowns, beautiful gowns" the movie.

Mess. I was more into the film when it was described as "To Die For" on ice.

Back in December 4-time Formula 1 World Champion and poop fascist Lewis Hamilton shamed his nephew on Instagram, saying: "I'm so sad right now. Look at my nephew. Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas? Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas? BOYS DON'T WEAR PRINCESS DRESSES!"

He apologized, deleted his social media, and has now called the paparazzi to debut his new hair show how nonjudgmental he is of his nephew's fashion choices.

They were chaperoned by Pascal Duvier, the bodyguard Kim Kardashian fired after she was robbed.
