Taylor Swift and her lawyers fail to respond to ACLU letter over blogger’s criticism

• Last month, Swift's lawyers sent a cease and desist letter to a blogger if they didn't retract and remove a blog post titled, “Swiftly to the alt-right: Taylor subtly gets the lower case kkk in formation.” In attorney William J. Briggs cease-and-desist letter, he called the article defamatory, a “malicious attack” on Swift and “replete with demonstrable and offensive falsehoods.”

• The blog's author enlisted the assistance of the ACLU of Northern California.

• On Thursday, the ACLU provided an update over the correspondence with Swift’s lawyers, which asked for a response by November 13.

• “The deadline has passed and we have not heard from Ms. Swift or her attorney. Their failure to respond shows that the letter to Ms. Herning was full of empty threats and designed to intimidate,” ACLU attorney Michael Risher said in a statement.

• Risher added, "We remain concerned about threat letters of this type that effectively discourage people from seeking the legal advice they need to fight back."

Jeffrey Tambor Accused By ‘Transparent’ Actress Of Sexual Harassment

Transgender actress Trace Lysette alleges that Jeffrey Tambor made lewd, sexually suggestive and unwelcomed remarks to her on a number of occasion.
Tambor is also said to have physically pressed up against Lysette in a sexually aggressive manner during a break in filming.
Tambor says he can at times be “volatile and ill-tempered,” denies the claims.

-Wanted to cast Armie as Oliver since The Social Network.
-On Armie Hammer's reluctance take on the role:“I’m scared about this role.” Why? “I don’t know. I’m scared.” I told him, “If you’re scared, it might mean that you want something.” Which could sound like a sleazy way of approaching somebody, but the truth is that fear and desire are the polarizing elements of most of our actions. I think Armie wanted to have that fear and act it out.
-On what convinced him to include the peach scene: I tried to put the deboned peach on me and it actually worked, it wasn’t just a metaphor! So I threw the peach away, composed myself, and went to Timothée and told him, “Timmy, I tried the peach myself, and it works. We can film the scene.” And he goes, “Of course it works! I tried it myself as well.”
On there not being an Elio/Oliver having sex scene: We shot some things, but one thing is important to say: We didn’t have any limitations. I also think it may be my unconscious knowledge that many gay films pride themselves on being explicit. It’s almost like a subgenre!
-He wants to do five CMBYN movies (whoaaaaa what)
-Started thinking about the sequels at Sundance"because I didn’t complete realize until then that they were characters who could go beyond the boundaries of the film."
-Doesn't think a sequel would take away from the ending of Call Me By Your Name."It would not remove the power of the final shot of this film, because that is about him being 18. What we would see in the sequel is him being 25."

Eurovision roundup: Macedonia is in, tickets, a returning artist

After explaining in my previous post that Macedonia would not take part of next year's contest due to debts, they are in again. No explanation was given to why ESC changed its decision (if I know anything, I'll update the post), but this is great news! (also #justicefordancealone)




Tickets for the grand final vary between €35 and €299 euros and and the first wave starts going on sale on November 30th at 11:00 CET at Blueticket pt. Tickets for the semifinals and remaining shows will go on sale in January.





Waylon is back to represent The Netherlands! He was in ESC 2014 (aka the year Conchita won), teamed up with Ilse DeLange in a duo under the name The Common Linnets. They finished 2nd (the best result for the country in decades) with the song 'Calm after the storm'.


Waylon is not part of the duo anymore (although Common Linnets is still active) because he is trying to pursue his solo career. His fourth album, Seeds, was released in 2016.

Sylvester Stallone Paid Millions in Hush Money to His Sister for Years of Alleged Sexual Abuse

With the newly-unearthed 1986 police report in which a 16-year-old girl alleged rape by Sylvester Stallone and his bodyguard, a number of news reports have pointed out that the incident occured only one year before Stallone paid millions to his own younger sister after she said that he had sexually abused her for years.

Toni-Ann Filiti was Sly's half-sister by his mother and 18 years younger than him. In her early 20s, she alleged that Stallone was a parental figure to her growing up and that he used his power over her to rape her for years, starting when she was 15.

In 1987, when Toni-Ann was 23, Stallone agreed to pay her $2 million, plus $16,666 a month for life, plus another $50,000 a year for life to cover her psychiatric and medical bills. In exchange, Toni-Ann was forbidden to speak to anyone but her husband, doctor and psychiatrist about what had occurred between them and had to destroy incriminating tapes - and all transcripts of said tapes - that she had secretly made which she said proved her claims.

The agreement didn't come to light until 2013, a year after Toni-Ann died of lung cancer. At that time, Stallone's representative maintained that he had been blackmailed by Toni-Ann and paid her off so that her false allegations wouldn't ruin his career and reputation. His and Toni-Ann's mother, Jackie Stallone, backed him up, calling her daughter a drug addict and a liar and insisting that her son only wanted to "help" his sister.

But Toni-Ann's son Edd insisted his mother was telling the truth and that as she lay on her death bed in a Florida hospital, she had screamed about the abuse by her brother "over and over".
